The Supra actually gripped better than I expected off the line.

So... you think a race, run twice, with two different outcomes... would be MORE interesting if you reduced power and traction for one of the cars? I guess so, but only if you watch murder documentaries for entertainment.

The Golf would have done much better if the driver wasn't so late releasing the brakes (look at the brake lights in the video, the Supra has already started to go but the Golf brake lights are still lit).

There's a reason aside from research?
