Hi guys,

I've read through various threads that a couple of guys have removed the standard back boxes to allow more noise to come from the slightly too quiet stock exhaust which I then decided to get my Golf R MK7 resonator gutted.

A much better sound than stock. Full throttle accelerations sound great with a lovely DSG fart on every gear change and very minimal / no drone at cruising speed.

I have also added a Stage 2 remap and full miltek decat downpipe achieving 440 bhp and 390lbft. However I just felt like I needed an addition something to make the exhaust note that little bit louder. Was very impressed with this inexpensive mod (at just £80) and personally, I think it sounds better than offerings from a number of leading exhaust manufacturers.

The best thing about it all is it all looks stock as opted for gutting the mufflers, so all original hangers and mounts for exhaust have been used.

Sounds just like mine lots of crackles and pops

I continue to get people at stop light asking me what CBE I have

I always have to laugh just a Catless Downpipe and a Res Delete

Always tell me it sounds really nice

And I agree with the sounding just as good as some manufacturers or even better won't mention any names

No drone what so ever

Don't want to be negative but a complete delete of that resonator doesn't have that tinny fizzle sound. I understand if your area doesn't allow you to remove exhaust components, but I think replacing the perforated pipe inside of the resonator with a solid pipe would/could sound better.

Also don't take exhaust sound vids on a cold car.

Also stop using Photobucket.

I've failed at not being negative, sorry :(

Sounds really tinny, but could be the cold start/high idle adding to it.

As mentioned above you really shouldn't rev on cold start lol. Oil temp at 180-200ish if you like your bottom end and turbo
