JB4 Logging, stacking and Map 6 Discussion

Well, I think I'm just going to stick to MAP2 for now.

On whatever days I initially logged the MAP6 suggestions, It was running great.
As summer has moved in, and it's 85-90 most days the car doesn't seem to like it..or map3 very much.

Get hesitations in the 4-5k range where boost is highest, and rarely if ever ,seem to encounter them on simple map2.


Need a downpipe and IC stat!


EDIT: Maybe i'll just start dropping map6 numbers a psi at a time...

Can anyone help analyze my log and why it's not looking too healthy? I usually run Map 6 (logs look great) when I have access to some E85 but didn't have any at the time. I use Map1 for 91 and Map6 for blend.
I've been running with the JB4 for a over a year and this is by far not the healthiest looking log.

Guys I need help/advice. My friend FL S3 has problem with EGT temps, rich AFR and low IGN. Does anyone know why this happened?
On gear 2 and 3 map 4 AFR looks good but on gear 4 AFR rise after 5500 to 11:0
Car got only intake and jb4. Ambient temp 20C

Map adaption time?

I have a friend who had used JB4's on his BMW's quite a bit and he told me to remember that when switching maps that the car will need a bit of adaption time and to do several pulls and varied driving to let it settle before thinking something may be wrong.

Is this lore?
Any grains of truth?

It's dumping fuel to cool the cylinders.

It's true.

I thought so..

Funny there has been virtually no discussion of it here, but it's all over the n54 forums ect.

Back to map6 for a while to test this theory and see if it improves. I've been swapping maps left and right and stomping on it expecting results in 1 min.

It's mentioned in the install instructions on the BMS website.

Yes,

" A few wot runs".

Reading elsewhere indicates it's important between map changes, with any e85 variances ect.
