Retrofitted dynaudio mib2

The sound is not perfect and the sub is producing sound and bass rather then just bass

Is this coding?

I’m no car audio expert but I’d have thought a low pass filter in line to the sub would be the simplest solution.

From the article: "I removed the side panel and took a bicycle cable shroud, these work great for fishing cabling. If you don’t have one just go to your local bicycle ship and ask for one they have replaced. House wiring cable is also decent, a clothes hanger is likely not long enough. After removing side panel I started from there and went half way through dash, reached up and pulled down to cubby. Now I could tape USB/Aux yellow and green connectors to my shroud and fish up harness to infotainment unit. Green connector will slide into large connector."

Not sure what this has to do with a MIB1 to MIB2 conversion.

That said, you may want to check byte 04 and 11 to see if they are set up for external amp (Dynaudio - Fender in US). Not sure if it relates to your Dynaudio conversion.

From article:

"Since your unit is likely from salvage it is already coded with adaptations all sorted. However, you should check a couple of things in the 5F module. Check bytes 4 and 11 if you have a Fender System as the donor unit may not have come from an external amp unit. In my case I did have to change the values to the original values of byte 4 to 00 and byte 11 to 02. Also verify byte 19 is set for USB iPhone fully functionality."

Also, I thought I saw something about Dyanaudio conversion on the Ross-Tech forum.

Hi

Thanks for your help and these options have been checked

I think the amp itself needs coding
Can anyone share the coding for a mib2 amp
47 - sound system long coding

As I have a fault saying control module not coded

I'm getting no response from 47 in VCDS for the MIB 2 amp. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Great job with your DIY.

If I wanted to have driver profile selection installed (switches and coding) 5G0054809 - could I just purchase the kit online like the one found here and code everything myself without needing ODIS?

I got everything to work. Thanks George for this guide. Definitely was helpful. The coding was the main issue as to why 47 was not responding. I was able to code the rearview camera, boot logo, and car image after component protection was removed from the MIB and amp.

I ended up having CP removed and appconnect added remotely. Much cheaper than buying the appconnect key and going to the dealer and paying for labor. I ended up buying the VAS5054 with OKI chip to have it all done remotely. If anyone needs the VAS5054 for the conversion, I'm willing to sell it for cheaper than what you can find online. Just PM me.

Thanks. I see we are off topic from MIB1 to MIB2 conversion.

Unfortunately, no. A dealer would have to add the Functional Enablement Code (FeC) using ODIS hooked up to VW Central. When you buy the FeC it comes as a PIN code and when added the FeC will be associated with you VIN at the mother-ship database. This allows the FeC to be re-added later along with all the other FeC associated with your VIN if you need a future replacement of your infotainment. Much cheaper price on that here http://www.allcarpartsfast.co.uk/vw-...4809-software/ then what you provided. Lastly, when you order 5g0054809 the hardware (shown in your picture) and cable comes with the FeC PIN code.

I have got everyone working but the sub is producing vocals along with bass
Also the sound focus does not work on dynaudio profile and only on Individual with the ball

Can you outline exactly what you bought (new / used), hardware-wise, as well as what software mods (purchased, coding, what software tools, etc.) you did?
(Cost, too, if you don't mind.)

I was going to go with the hacked unit, but then started hearing people having issues (e.g., random shut-offs) with the ones from APG. So, now back at looking at doing getting MIB2 the pseudo-legit way.
