Chances of this being true are very very slim. If you damaged the radiator, you'd have to go through the fan and shroud first, not to mention you'd really have to try to rock the engine that much.

He wouldn't be able to get the dogbone bolt back in if the engine shifted, or if he did, he would have mentioned how of a PIA it was to move the engine.
My guess is this is just a coincidence.

The gasket may be fine but being that the drains are clogged, water is just pooling up. I am going to take the door panel off myself and figure it out. Dealer techs are worthless.

Our 1.8 Jetta does this and has done it since day one. It is just the injectors that are loud, and the engine cover kind of suppresses it a little.
