The models affected include the VW Jetta, Beetle and Golf from 2009 through 2015, the Passat from 2014-2015 as well as the Audi A3, model years 2009-2015. Owners of the "CleanDiesel" may be in for a shock. Notably, those who have tunes on them.

If Volkswagen were to (and they most likely will) re-program their cars to meet the emissions control, ultimately, there will be a reduction in mileage, a noticeable downgrade in horsepower and torque. When this is done, the cars would run 40 times more emissions, when on the road - based on Volkswagen re-programming their cars to meet emissions control. So, there is much more that needs to be done with their programming...but at an expense. If you end up going to get the programming done on your car, do not forget to put your car back to stock. And this may drastically affect future tunes, after this Volkswagen's updates. Hope your tuner shop will not charge you for a re-flash. And this might send tuner powerhouses like Malone, REVO, Unitronic and GOAPR back to the drawing board.
