It's good to have the chip repair kit anyway in case the chip repair place is closed for the day and you need to keep a chip from spreading overnight. I've had it happen. Got a chip about 6" from the passenger edge and by morning it had spread to the edge and they can't repair it when it goes to an edge.

That happened to me too.

UV resin works well for this which is basically what the chip repair kit is. If the chip is too small the product has a hard time adhering to the glass though..

Also my feeling.

All good comments. I doubt the chip will spread. I'll find out when it gets cold and the heater warms the glass.

Unless the chip has sharp edges, I doubt it will wear the wipers. Wipers run over dirt and grime every time you use them, so I doubt they would have to be replaced any sooner then the normal time. Wipers should be replaced on a regular basis when they starting wearing out.

I just found it's called a pit not a chip.

Nail polish hardener works wonders. I use all the time. Dries clear and prevents the crack from spreading
