Probably running out of fuel if it's dumping fuel to keep things cool. Stock ECU is pretty aggressive in that regards and if you're running any boost through the JB4 that takes away fueling headroom.
Interesting. I'm running just Map 1 on the JB4. What would be the best way to remedy?

Dude! 1:47's is faster than Randy Pobst!! Nice going! Curious which mods would you attribute the most to the 3 seconds?
Definitely tires and the extra 45hp. Power helps at Laguna. I can’t wait to get back though because I know I can do mid 1:46s.

wow 45 WHP is a healthy amount! My car vs yours will likely run very much the same as the time we simulated in GT Sport! I'm only on 235 width stock tire size though, which will make me slower than you both in the straight and also in corners. Except perhaps corner exit for turn 2

I think you will definitely have an advantage out of T11/T2, I really struggle with grip out of those. All other corners I probably have a tiny bit more lateral grip due to weight/tire advantage. Straight line speed our cars are probably fairly close. 265hp/3200lbs vs 290hp/3450lbs. Stock R does 1:46.9, I bet you car could do 145.5.

you mean my car should be faster than stock due to A052 and rear sways?

Well I would sure hope so! The stock continental/Pirellis are definitely not great for track use.
yeah that does make sense. I also never drove my Golf hard without the rear sways so I never felt the understeer that people always complain about. My car though suffers under braking which makes me let off the gas much earlier and also brake earlier as I don't trust it. I would likely get the most speed improvements right now simply by some kind of BBK. Did you find the Macan's to be good enough?

Regarding your Schroth harness, you already did it, but I assume you have no issues modifying the mounting bracket? No concerns of it being weak?

With how little material was removed, no I am not concerned. I think I will make a point to inspect it routinely though for any signs of degradation.

No major updates just a photo someone took of me at the track I really liked. Track day at Sonoma this weekend.

Also got Hankook RS4s in 245/40/17 for when the Apex wheels come in. New pads and rotors as well.

so awesome man! what events are you joining at Sonoma? would love to join you at one, maybe laguna also.

Next time you're at Sonoma you should really drive up the hill and check out the shifter karts track also if you haven't before. They are the motorsports equivalent of crystal meth, but in a good way.

i have ~450whp GTI with stoptech brakes and soon to have EQT coilovers too, I would be thrilled to break the 2 min mark at Sonoma on Mp4s michelin tires but I just like having fun and am not that serious.

one thing i would strongly recommend thinking about is getting an EQT tune on E30 or E50 fuel mix. The stock mk7 fuel system will easily support that on an is20 turbo (my car made 460whp on stock fuel system with E48 fuel and is38x turbo on Ed's EQT dyno), the improved torque and throttle response is profound (my car picked up >65whp and 65 wheel torque from 91 to E50) but even better my car runs a touch cooler and I think the improved octane and cooling of ethanol fuel really helps the reliability of these Mk7 engines. My car has been 460+whp now for like 35k miles without any issues which I attribute mostly to the E50 fuel mix I run 100% of the time. I believe the reason so many people fry the rings or break ring lands especially in cylinder 4 in these motors I believe is because these cars run reallllly hot EGTs on pump gas when they are turned up, and the ethanol makes a massive improvement in this regard. Your car will be faster, less susceptible to heat soak, and imo will be also far more reliable over time, and you can also sell the COBB later whenever you sell your car and recoup a lot of your money and the Jb4 is easy to sell also.

I would also say that my car with is38x turbo, MAperformance catted/resonated downpipe, and stock muffler is perfect balance of roudy when on the throttle but quiet when getting groceries or hauling kids around and nearly zero drone.
