Will a highway trip hurt a virgin southbend stage 3 daily clutch?

I need to do a 5 hour highway run next week and the new clutch has 15 miles on it. I understand it needs 500+ city miles but can I do the city break in miles after the 5 hour trip? I really dont want to take the schitt bag Cx5.

It'll be fine as long as you aren't giving it a ton of throttle.

It’s ok to get into high revs with light throttle, if you need to pick up speed, downshift and light throttle.

I drove 500 highway miles on a trip with my SB Stage 2 before it was fully broken in. I just did the break in after and it was good to go. I would just take it easy and stay away from heavy throttle applications as tempting as it may be.

The break in instructions say highway driving is fine, but doesn't count towards your break in mileage. You'll be fine.

Pretty sure it means to not aggressively downshift to rapidly accelerate.

Just push in clutch on deceleration until stopped before going to first gear. Don't use downshifting to help with deceleration is my guess what they mean.

Probably, but it wasn't a long time that I needed to do it for, only a few weeks. Great clutch, I love it.

AWESOME....thx so much team. It’s my sons car but I wrecked the clutch while he was in LA so I paid for it. I don’t trust the youngster to keep his foot out of it so I’m breaking it in.
