White dust from air vents VW Golf Gtd Mk7

Hi I am new to this forum so apologies in advance if I make any mistakes.

I own a 2014 Golf Gtd and when using the fans white dust is coming through the vents and covering the dashboard.

I am not sure as to whether the issue is the heater matrix or the air con evaporator as some forums as say one and one says the other

Any help and guidance is appreciated.

Have you tried changing the cabin/pollen filter first

I feel like I remember hearing this before, I think the culprit was the heater core.

Hi exactly same issue with my GTD it was air con evaporator luckily mine was still under warranty as its a dashboard out job.
