Which MIB2 Brain Unit for Retrofit

Currently in the planning / purchaseing stage of my MIB2 conversion. I have 2015 Tdi se with no navigation installed. Would like to install navigation and upgrade infotainment system. Recently purchase a glass 8" screen display (# 5G6919605D) and am awaiting its arrival. I have a VAS5054A cable and bezel trim coming from China.

Trying to figure out which infotainment unit I should purchase. I am searching car-part.com and ebay for used items and trying to narrow down my options. My choices are the following?
3Q0035876A, 3Q0035878A or 3Q0035880B

I am not sure that 3Q0035878A supports navigation. There is some confusion in the VW parts website if it does.

Is 3Q0035880B newer than the 3Q0035876A? Would this be a better unit?

Does anyone know the part number for the Disocery Pro MIB unit?

I can confirm that 3Q0035876 is a MK7 MIB2 unit. If it ends with "A" or "B" it is a newer revision, and the reason you would want that is because the "App" button on the 8" glass screen will auto launch App Connect. Otherwise no difference.

No idea what 3Q0035878A or 3Q0035880B are.

I have 3Q0035876 in my '16 R. It's made in Germany by TechniSat. The following year VW switched suppliers to Delphi, and those units were/are problematic as hell. Zero issues with my earlier unit. I'd avoid Delphi if at all possible. There are also several other OEMs that VW used over the years.

Hello All,

First time posting here. I have a 2015 Golf TDI SEL (w/Nav) that I am looking to convert from MIB1 to MIB2 as well.

I found a 2019 Jetta SEL that is being parted locally and was wondering if anything there would be compatible for my conversion. From what I can tell, it looks like the 2019 Jetta SELs get the 5G6919605D 8" glass display and 3Q0035878B for the control module.

The only glove box module I see listed for that car on parts.vw.com is 3Q0035878B and the description is murky at best. Does anyone know definitively if the control unit will work for my application? I would like to keep factory nav if possible.
