I just saw this. Funny story.......I’m curious what you ended up doing!
I was going to go the same route as you, IF I decided to do coilovers.
I still may just save some money and do Eibach springs and sport dampers.
As I was researching cars, I came across writeups on the new Nissan Z Nismo, and I became obsessed with it! I didn't even know that the new model Nismo came out yet, and I read so many positive reviews, I fell in love and had it in my garage 3 days later! LOL. I think I seriously have a car problem. I was sold on the fact that it is track ready right out of the box. Compared to the "performance" model (which basically sucks as a track car), they improved EVERY flaw! Stiffened the chassis, thicker sway bars, lower and stiffer springs and race tuned shocks, urethane bushings, big 15" Akebono brakes with racing pads and fluid, 200 wear tires, light weight Rays forged wheels, Bigger coolers for engine oil and coolant, added coolers for transmission and differential, better steering feel with alcantara wheel, alcantara/leather Recaro Seats, 20 more HP and 35 more torque, bigger transmission clutches and an added Sport + aggressive track mode, and probably a few things I missed. So now I'm basically done breaking it in, and will put as many extra miles that I can, and will take it to a track day on the 28th of this month.
So, I guess at this point I'm going to sell the 2015 GTI. I'm thinking that I should maybe try to sell it with all the mods first, to see if there is any interest. It is in pretty perfect condition (a few VERY minor flaws) and only about 32,000 miles. I'm not sure what it's worth, but would love to hear opinions.
Here is the new car. So far I'm really loving it. It feels very extreme when I drive it. Almost super car like.
