Wheels offset/spacers

Just wondered if anyone had any pics of 18x8 et42 wheels on their MK7 GTI PP.

Also what spacers would be needed to make them flush.

On VWR lowering springs and ECS flush kit with stock Austins currently.

I've had a look around but seems most are 8.5 or/and 45.

any help appreciated! cheers.

Yes, but 7.5 wide.

Compared to your current setup (assuming 15mm front and 20mm rear spacers) the new wheels would be ~2mm tucked in front and ~7mm in the rear. Probably unnoticeable up front. 8mm spacer in rear would bring it to same as your current setup.

Yah hard to visualize when you are talking mm's

I was thinking 3mm front 8mm rear to get back to current which I like.

Maybe I could get 5 and just fit them, then return if not what I want.

3/4 weeks to wait for the wheels hurry up already!

Tough waiting...I hear ya.

On stock wheels/tires, I went down from 15/20 spacers to 10/15. Looks as good IMO and less stuff flings up the sides and back of the car. My $0.02 in regards to why I'd just go 5mm rear.

Are you buying new tires as well?

Yup PSS 225/40/18

Ok so same width as stock. But I have heard that PSS are slightly wider than regular 225 tires. So you may gain a bit of poke with those tires.

I did not know that, be goood to see pics of anyone on 225/40/18 with 18x8 et42. I took a punt and got some VMR 804's powder coated pearl white! Can't wait to see how they look, I clean the car every week anyway

Interested to see that as well. Good choice on the 804s!
