Have you tried entering your registration number on the GSFcarparts website?

They should have your rack available, will be around £500 but if you exchange your old rack they’ll refund around £200, if you try asking in branch though they may give you a better price and more options,

I’ve used them several times without issue, they are based in Germany so will have a few extra days added to the delivery time.

@Tim Stevens; if your car has full VW main dealer service history and if the version of the steering rack in your car is known to fail, then it’d be worth asking VW a goodwill contribution towards the cost of having it replaced.

Do you have a power steering issue, or did the power steering fail when another unrelated ABS type error got logged by the computer? The latter: extremely likely. The former: not very likely at all.
