Most performance Golfs built for the UK market are supplied with Bridgestone Potenza S001 for 18" and Pirelli P Zero for 19" Santiagos wheels.

What's so bad about Potenza's? I was under the impression they were decent. Clearly I'm sorely mistaken

Bent form NY jKone fyi jabberwock
After about 5K they started to loos contact on wet and started to make lot's of noise :(
Grip under dry was ok but when comparing them to the PSS it's far above them

Mine came with hankook. I feel the ride is rough at highway speeds and at times I may feel slight vibrations. I took the car in but they told me it was fine, I have a feeling these tires aren't too smooth. Unsure if it's just me or anyone else out there having similar tires having similar experiences. I'm not comparing the car to a Cadillac or anything but at times it doesn't feel smooth rolling at highway speeds.

Last time I checked, there were 27 different tyres on that page alone.
So which one do you intend to buy?
Of course, you can buy whatever you want, but did they win or got a recommendation in any comparison tests?
This is a good page if you want to know how people evaluate various tyres:
