18x9 up front with a slightly stretched tire for improved turn in and feedback. Plus the 17x8 has impractical barrel clearance for a DD.Why. I could understand a reverse stagger, but different size wheels
Keeping 17x8 in the rear because of ride compliance and the slight sidewall flex keeps my driving quite comfortable. Plus they're like 5lbs lighter per corner.
It wasn't uncommon in Japanese circuits to run a 1" larger rim (16/15 or 17/16) up front specifically for tire characteristics, and clearance. I can't NOT do a few nods to my JDM car roots
