Pretty excited to finalize the Stage 2 Flex Fuel daily driver. I’ve got a do88 intercooler on order and the EQT 91-E85 flex file is on the way as well. I will also be swapping to some softer engine/trans mounts in a few weeks so if anyone wants to buy a set of broken-in BFI stage 1 mounts let me know.

actually I accidentally autism'd my way out of some unknown flavor of scam because of it... some guy at the hardware store started chatting me up about my SCCA jacket, and was kind of leaning towards 'a moneymaking opportunity', trying to ask what my dream car was or something like that and asking what I do for work.
I told him now that I have a Miata all the other dream cars have kind of faded, it's just that good. And it's cheap to maintain, which is an added bonus.
I talked to him for another ~15-20 minutes in the tool aisle about Miatas and SCCA stuff and didn't realize until I got home that he was trying to start a sales pitch

Got a replacement upper timing cover and PCV valve. The timing cover has been leaking for a while but the PCV is just a might as well kinda thing. Looks like a straightforward but fiddly job due to the tight access. I went with REIN which is supposedly OEM and these have the VW/Audi logo and other markings ground off so that looks to be true.

The title. I paid the car off at the beginning of the year but it was time to renew my tags and it gave me the option. Been thinking about selling lately. Maybe I’ll get around to making a for sale post.
I have a for sale post stashed in my notes. I’ve been going back and forth on it for the last 4 or so months. Having no car payment is pretty nice though…
I've been having weak cranks at startup, so I figured it was time to replace the battery, so that naturally lead me to ordering an OBDELEVEN to code the new battery. I was gone for a long weekend trip to Nashville, and now that I'm back, I get to figure out everything I want to do to the car. I've already decided on killing the seatbelt and door chimes for sure, but I haven't figured out what else yet. I'll be searching the forum to get some ideas. I know I don't want to mess with buying credits for apps, so I'll be taking the long-coding route.
