Finally gained the bug back to start work on my V3 round of the GTI’s car stereo, lol. Had the 3.5”s and tweets from over a year ago’s purchase but the tm65s showed up yesterday afternoon so i can go full 3way up front. (Been working on the a pillars the last few days as well)
These things are nice and shallow for thier known output and clarity compared to the others I’ve had for stock/v1/v2 lol. so got to test for if they clear without and adapter rings cause I did try them with the current 3/4” MDF rings already on the car and they wouldn’t even slide in with those.

What do you use for DSP and tapping into the stock signal? Fender or basic? The only thing I ever really wanted to change about the Fender radio was to add a dsp to get some time alignment settings and the like to adjust the sound stage.

Currently I’m using a LC7i where I cut the 4 factory channels out of the dash directly to it. Then that goes to a Dayton dsp-408 then to the amps and from the amps back to the factory harness behind the radio for the door speaker (tweeters were run as standalone wires since they are fed off the door speakers in a factory configuration.
The dsp was cool to get started with for sure - but with this version 8 channels won’t be enough, so I’m going to be upgrading to a helix dsp with at least 10 channels just still deciding which one as I like the convenience (and lower price,lol) of the helix m6 dsp amp so I can run the actives right off that and still have extra outputs to feed the sub amps. But we will see.
Also my car was basic stereo, pretty sure from what I’ve seen it’s more money and limited options to add a dsp to a fender setup.

My initial thought is it'll be on its way to you. But going to give it a few days to see. I also need to send the seller a message to see if there's a way to change the units from metric to imperial. I'll type up a mini initial review in a bit.

Glad it worked out. Been meaning to send this for probably a year at this point. From what I remember it was hot outside when I initially tried it. And it's hot outside again.
Admittedly when I initially tried it I had not finished (or yet fathomed) my single zone climatronic retrofit. That may have changed my mind about keeping it, who knows
.I should also note that it does support the fragrance system, via voice control, although I did not pick that up.

Probably the most egregious part. If it makes it through all of you gentlemen and back to me I'm not unwilling to try to hack into the thing and see if that image can be changed. A custom startup image, or no image at all would be quite nice.
I didn't even buy it from that store from what I recall. Of course probably only made by one company and resold. So assuming that store does exist they should be your best bet at finding out if it can be changed or disabled.

Nope, that was on me. Went back and looked, and sure enough gave you the wrong zip code
