No, Deutsche Auto Parts. Ordered 9/20, they said 60-90 days.

I'm excited for them, they're like the ultimate VW nerd part. Engineered for a low volume special model not sold in the US, that held a Nürburgring FWD record? Come on. It's the kind of part that, when you look at the car, you can just feel it.

On the super cheap bathroom scale, they show 20.5lbs. This about 1lb heavier than the Apex SM-10’s on the same scale. Both are 18x9.

They also clear the TTRS caliper and 370mm rotor just fine.

I really wanted the VS-5RS, but could not get confirmation they’d fit my brakes, and I didn’t want to roll the dice and have an expensive oops.

Finally received my airbag from Portugal today and was horrified by the state of its packaging.....

Not one ounce of packing foam, bubble wrap, or anything of the sort. Literally just a wrinkled cardboard box with a plastic bag inside it. You'd think they'd give more care to packing a literal explosive but I guess not

Luckily the only damage I've noticed is probably not a big deal; one of the alignment tabs on the back has snapped off and is nowhere to be seen. Edit: upon installation I realized one of the springs was gone too (visible in pic below!) — ended up transplanting one from the old airbag.

So yeah, not happy about B-Parts' (the company I bought it from in Portugal) packaging methods. Anyways, the airbag is exactly what I wanted with its old-style badge and new-style shape, and after swapping its 5-pin harness with a 6-pin one, (5G0971584R -> 5G0971584AC), it should work perfectly with all the other parts I've got.

Something really weird to note is that there exists another airbag for the Passat with the same exact part number (3G0880201JXEA), and it has the mix-and-match design swapped:

Flat badge and old "superman" shape. So if any of you decide to order one of these, make sure to get a picture of the one you're receiving, lol

Got some calipers for the Tiguans rear big rotors upgrade, like @Acadia18 im gonna live on the wild side with China cast caliper… will go from 310mm non vented to 356mm vented on the rears. Looking to help fill out the 20” barrels a little better.

Only about 20k miles (2.5 years).

BFI wondered if there might have been some coolant exposure that broke down the poly but I can't recall that ever happening. The car feels totally normal and there's nothing wonky looking with the alignment but will take a closer look when I get the old ones off.

New dashcam. Was on sale on Amazon for about 50% off. Usually the DR970X-2CH LTE is a bit over $500, was on sale for $268.

I wanted a 4K connected dashcam that offers live remote viewing with real time push notifications for events in parking mode for the last few years. The Dride4k was supposed to be that, but that ended up being a bust. Have to shop around for data, but it looks like T-Mobile pre-paid may be the way to go, they offer 2gb of data a month for $10/mo.

What spec did you get your 20s in? I'm looking for some for Christmas and didn't know about offset. Also, link to the rear bbk? We should probably start an mqb Tiggy thread........
