-270 is a wicking grade (and may resist vibrations better but not positive) also it is what VW motorsport engineers recommends for studs thread locked 270, torqued 130Nm and punched on two ends to help un-tightening and 100Nm torqued nuts.
Wow, interesting they recommend 130 Nm / 95 ft lb for the studs, when almost everybody recommends around 35 Nm / 25 ft lb, and the torque for the wheels is lower than factory as well, I thought factory was 120 Nm / 89 ft lb.

I haven't used Teroson since I left Germany, we used it to install bumper lips, spoilers, etc... kinda like what RWB Nakai-san do when he installs the wide body kits on the Porsche. I used Window Weld for the lip in my SS and my 1LE, makes for a much cleaner appearance as well as a little reinforcement.

I believe the low torque is because how they are installed via 5mm hex tip (and possibly there material and tensile strength) I know a lot of people use those type of studs, me personally I'd rather use a homologated motorsport stud from a GT4 or TCR car if available or use lug bolts.

I've asked engineers from VW motorsport on what they advise for a non-endurance track car and they said no less than 100Nm for a TCR wheel stud

The technician at Apex studs there VAG cars at 120Nm and believe he uses A.I. Tech studs.

I attached a screen shot from the Oreca FIA R2 rally car which uses Audi hub assemblies and they advise 140Nm + 270 green which are due to the shoulder studs and the same type used on the Audi R8 GT4 cars.

@Track R I was browsing the Apex website, I do remember they used a higher torque rating as well but their new install sheet says 32Nm as well, I can't find a US based website that sells the A.I. Tech studs or a website with install specs for them. Mostly NZ and DE websites.

Now, those R8 studs are beastly... do their wheels have a cone seat on the inside as well? I have not seen one in person, at least taken apart one... pretty cool to have access to all those tech spec sheets.

-On a side note if you got $16,800eur burning a hole in your pocket they still have a few bodies still available for sale 😁
How do the official TCR kit compares to the Oettinger? Around $18k for the one Cupra sells vs $14.5k or $32.3k for the full package... not that I will get one, but considering the amount of money required, are they around the same? At least their base one? I think this and the Golf RS-R conversion would be a freaking monster! Brings memories from the Rallye Deutschland in Trier in 2004, hell that was loud.

I was referring to Apex Nurburgring

The factory TCR parts are made of Carbon fiber and carbon kevlar except the bumpers which are fiber glass and mfg by Tomuli composites in Czech Republic
https://www.tomuli.cz/en/

The Oettinger kit is fiber glass too expensive it offers no real aero and looks off to me

The cheapest route is from Schmidt Motorsport they made there molds from the original 2015-2016 GTI TCR kit with the round fenders before VW revised to the 2017-2018 Evo box versions for better aero. there kit is carbon glass and runs $6500 now with inflation

Yeah but you're not getting 19x10 wheels with that kit. Holy cow that's huge

That is sexy! Not a fan of the boxed look.
18x10 260/60-18 0r 265/40-18
275/40/18 too tall for them? I think I will be semi happy with the SRS-Tec front fenders and 10" up front. I can run 9" with the stock fender, SRS are 2,2cm wider, a 10" should be doable with 265/40 or 275/40.

I was going to post a pic of the new fuel injector tool I bought but with all this TCR talk it seemed rather boring.
I still have yet to see a TCR in person. I did see a CSS in Finland a few years back.

Don't look bad at all, I thought about the 275 because we just mounted 275/40/20's on HRE FF21 on the wife's SQ5 and thought that was a decent size for a 10" rim. I wanted to go with the 285/40/20 to cover a little more of the gap since we weren't lowering the car too much, but I think the slightly rounder profile of the 275 looks better.
