I've being wondering what IAT should be now after the IC installation? I'm using COBB AP to monitored this value. Where should the number be to assert that the upgrade was a total success?
+20 over ambient while driving. In stop and go traffic it’s pretty much the same. Need to be moving to get temps down.

Don't want to put the resonator back, cause not happy with the volume on the touring setup. I really like the volume of the new track conversion but the drone is really getting into me. I'm open to suggestions that hopefully won't cost me a fortune.
The wife is starting to get anxious about my exhaust spendings.
Gotta do a helmholtz, 1/4 wave pipe to kill the drone and not affect the volume levels too much.

There are a couple links for calculators in this post

How about GTI goes quiet?
Of course, gotta have a flavor for everyone.

WOT 3-4 gear pull should be 2-12* over ambient by the end of the pull, providing Ambient temperatures less than 100*F

The IC needs to be pressurized to function in its intended capacity, just driving around in vacuum it’s not doing much and temperature changes aren’t instant.

Sure, in stop and go traffic the numbers may be slightly improved, but a long pull shows the most accurate before and after data.

You just tell her the louder your exhaust is the less you have to hear her.

sounds like the CSS muffler but not as tinny / raspy sounding.

I purchased a radar detector for my little red car. So incredible that's one of the least discussed things here.
yeah....cause they're illegal in lots of places....like VA.....booooo

I've had a valentine1 for the last 10 years, but these days it barely gets used. I don't see cops using their radar too often. It's usually just the signs they trailer around and dump on the side of the road or one of the old cop cars with no one sitting inside it. The last time I saw a cop using a radar was actually on the road I live on because these old fucks have nothing better to do than complain about people "speeding". I've seen the same people that yelled at me to slow down drive at the same speed I do...

Literally first thing I bought for my GTI. Escort Passport with hardwire kit.

Plus even the best radar detector on the market still has far too many false alerts.

I was running a radar detector when doing a top speed run in the middle of the night on an empty stretch of highway. It alerted me to the fact I was screwed about 3 seconds before the bored cop sitting in the median, without any lights on, hit his lights. The good news, top speed was confirmed at 140 and he didn't arrest me and impound my car. Bad news, lost license for a year and put my wife into labor when I got home and told her. 27 years later, she still brings it up.
