How many miles? What's the build date on your GTI? Must be a later, post-February 2015 model.

24000 miles and not sure exactly when it was built. I’m back to stock map until i decide to buy an aftermarket clutch.

The rumors are that they changed clutch suppliers soon after launch and the new one's pressure plate is weaker. 2014 builds seem to be handling more power longer. That's just the speculation. 2014 build turbos were more apparently prone to blowing too.

It's speculation... But there's strong anecdotal evidence backing it up. Some dude with a May 2014 build date went 120K miles on Stage 1+ before slipping. That's fucking amazing compared to this guy who slipped at 24K on a stinkin JB1

Could be previous owner. I bought used at 18k a few months ago and to be honest I have babied the car since I got it. Knew I would be getting a new clutch with my power goals just didn’t expect it to be so soon :/ fyi I was running +5 psi with an e30 blend.

Took off the vmr matte blacks and put on sparco bronze trofeo5 wheels w/ michelin pilot sports

My 2017 had zero slip on stage 1.5 Eurodyne 93 high torque map for 6k miles and slipped the second I went Stage 2.

On the bright side, once you change out your clutch you can go bananas w/mods.

Yep that’s the plan. What clutch are you looking at getting I am debating between the South Bend stage two endurance and Black Forest Industries.
