What did you do to your mk7 today?

Threw this in the back:

Now I just need to decide which brand I'm going with for the floor mats, I had Weathertech all around in my MK6.

I’ve been really happy with the fit for the floormats- if that’s any use to you making a choice. I have front, rear and the cargo tray with no regrets

Edit: Just realized I replied to an ollllllld post. Sorry lol

Hello,

Are the fumoto valves universal.. looking for one for my gti

Not for the plastic oil pan. They use a weird quarter turn with index locking thread

Agreed, not for the plastic pan. There is no "universal" Fumoto valve since there are different thread patterns for various models of vehicle. My Fumoto valve uses 14mm-1.5 threads, which matches the steel oil pan (and VW/Audi metal pans). I have this valve: http://www.fumotooildrainvalve.com/f106sx.html

There are other variations, but this is their newest design, which tucks a hair closer to the pan than the other styles. I have a few more photos and more info on this page.

So I would have to get a metal pan and the valve?

Correct. In all honesty, it's really not much of a difference with the plastic plug. VW sells a special tool to remove the pan plug, but I used a large flat-head screwdriver to take it off and it wasn't an inconvenience at all to me. Quarter turn if you are using the plug/ball valve, or quarter turn if you are using the screwdriver. All depends on personal preference. Upgrading to the metal pan has its obvious perks, however.

Ordered a Rosso Centaurus leather BFI shift knob yesterday. Should go well with the Diesel Geeks short shifter

How did the alignment go after the dead set kit install?
Any issues?

haven't done an alignment yet. Ironically, I live close to tyrolsport. Never knew they were in NY lol. So I'm gonna have them do my alignment. I'll report back with the results.

Nice wheel choice, I went with the same for my winter setup and like them a lot!

thanks.. what tires did you go with?

Had 4" ECS tips welded on. I wish they sat a little further in but the chrome finish is fantastic. Idk, what do you guys think? Too much?

Drove through Atlanta today. Saw a few GTIs, but not yours. Sadly I don’t have stage two dad mods/roof carrier, so we had to take the wife’s CR-V. I did wear my new GTI hat though!
