I closed out of a tab with a reply to this offshoot earlier because I didn't want to come off the wrong way... But I don't see how taking a picture of a watch in your car is at all related to the topic of the thread.

Just congratulating another member on his new watch that he posted about along with his car mods. Its nice to see other watch geeks on car forums that share the same interest on the same two holes in which we throw too much money into :D

I was implying the original post should not have happened. This thread is about what you did to your car, not about getting a new watch. I understand the excitement, just try to keep it on the correct board is all I'm trying to say

No matter what, the clutch is gonna slip. Some people just don't know how to notice tbh, meaning no offense. The best thing to do is just factor in the clutch as common truth, man up and replace it. It doesn't matter what year, or how you drive, it is physics! I even have the unicorn 15 build date with the rev t turbo and fairy clutch and I still have slippage. It's gonna slip. Most that claim it hasn't probably don't know how to tell to be quite frank or have never gotten it cold enough...

I'm at 30k miles on a June 14 build (15 Model year) JB1 /JB4 when they came out I had about 11k maybe 12k , it's working fine for now, it will slip but I'll wait until it does before getting a new clutch, the clutch on this car seems like a dream compared to the last car I worked on.
Not every clutch will fail quickly after a tune, it will eventually or as soon as you stomp on it or it could las for a few k's you never know but definitely budget for a stronger clutch.

Beautiful watch, the speedster is a timeless chronograph! I am also glad there are fellow watch enthusiasts like yourself on here. Post up some more pictures in the photo section, I created a new thread on there for watches and GTI's.

I'm Greek, so I am born automatically hairy!

To keep this on topic, I drove my GTI with my new watch to and from work. The drive is too much fun in this car!

Finally got around to painting the vw emblem on my ABT grill, unfortunately the emblem doesn't clip out, it's glued in so had a go at it this way, knowing that if i don't like it i can revert back to stock grill anyway. Anyway, don't like it, the white is a lot more white than the car paint and to me it sticks out like a sore thumb and looks stupid as!!

Finally got my suspension sorted out.

FSDs on stock springs is an excellent combo for those in shit areas. Firm where you want it, forgiving on the scarred roads, and reduced pitch, dive, and roll across the board.

Only took me 4 rebuilds to do what I had originally planned to do all along. Scope creep is a bitch.

The moral of the story is, progressive springs or progressive dampers, not both.

I’ve read that DG springs plus Koni sports are money, but I’m glad you got the set up you want.

Pretty much this...

Does anyone want to see what clutch slip looks like?
My car on the stock tune & clutch. Just over 18k miles:
