Wheelbands? And why did you go sourcing your own coilover setup versus buying one already designed?

Wheel bands are rim protectors against curb rash. You hardly see them.

I don't want coilovers. I want to achieve the most comfortable setup. FSD and Neu sport is known amongst the MK5 and MK6 community. I followed the same setup and true enough it is more comfortable than stock.

Installed the USP ASR disable kit and coded comfort windows on my Launch Edition. Being able to remotely lower windows on a hot day will be nice. It's also cool that I can raise them remotely, too. I can't do that with my 535xi, but I haven't tried coding with that car.

I found the source for that  "metallic rattle" that was driving me crazy!!!
it was coming from the center tunnel, I thought it is something under the car...
glad it wasn't!! on a long trip, I noticed that it changes if I move the arm rest.
I tried few positions and finally I think I have the verdict!: with the arm rest retracted, there is no rattle.
With the arm rest fully extended, when I keep my arm on it.....:mad::mad: rattle.

Now I have to see exactly where is coming from, but it's really quiet now!!! :D

If I remember correctly, its the small plastic panel in the arm rest. It should come out. I'm talking about the one you see when you slide out the arm rest.

Installed a Neuspeed PM. Definitely more giddy up. The dilemma now is traction: with 1st and 2nd gear governed a bit, it's fine, but if I had a stage 1+ tune I feel a limited slip diff is needed. I have read comments that the all-season Pirellis don't help.

The power increase is a riot, but I am wanting to reduce the turbo lag so the power hits sooner. I am considering a GFB dv.

Put my new Austins and tires that I bought off a forum member. I know, I know, but I have a TDI so it makes a pretty big difference. And received my Porsche Boxster S calipers back from powdercoating - now Ferrari yellow.

How much does a setup like that cost (roughly?)
I'm thinking of lowering but I don't want to go the coilover route again, but want something to eliminate wheel gap, have good longevity and be comfortable.

OK. Now you must post pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

So here's the brake calipers and a shot of the wheels on my car - which now looks like most of the stock cars with VWR springs haha. The "imperfections" in the powder coating near the top happened during the test fit - luckily you can't really see it once the pad pins are in. The last shot it at my friends euro-scrapyard when we took the calipers off the Boxster S using a forklift haha.

Got the springs and shocks from importrp for $809 shipped. The drop is a little bit lower than VWR (< 1 finger gap per corner) and the ride is more comfortable than stock.

I've had VWR + stock shocks before and this new setup isn't as firm and predictable as VWR because there's a bit of bounciness but the cushioning is amazing.

Would the VWR springs work with the shocks?

With the Koni shocks you mean? I contacted Koni and they will not recommend pairing the FSD with "race" springs such as VWR. They said to pair it with stock or something "mild" such as Eibach pro or "similar".
