Installed the last piece of the puzzle to be completely LED interior wise... the glove box. I don't know why all the stock lights except the trunk and glove box came as LED from the factory...

I'm about to install the glove box led. It's a weird looking chip. Is it easy to install?

Bought a set of VW Austin wheels for snow tires this winter. Now the question is which tire: Nokian hakkapeliitta r2, Michelin X-Ice XI3 or Bridgestone Blizzak WS80.

Another good one is the Nokian WRG3.
It's not as an aggressive a winter tread as the others, but it still does have the snowflake rating. More of a performance winter tire.
It worked well for me last winter; though Denver doesn't have as much snow as Madison . . . .

Love my wrg3s drove through 2 feet of snow and other blizzards with them with no issues. A year ago they were rated the best performance snow tire [emoji5]beat out the PA4, R2

It is my car. You're spot on. It's a simple splice with wire running underneath the latch trim into a VW trunk plug (so it plugs happy into any vw trunk assembly) and the leftover trunk housing from when i added the deauto trunk replacement. It's not in the carpet however. What i actually did was trim out a bit of the plastic webbing that's present on that side so it's mounted in a similar fashion as the original light. It doesn't feature the plastic housing as per the OEM mounting light, but it sits there pretty neat. I'll get some photos later.

Awesome, yeah if you can post pics that would be much appreciated...very interested in doing something similar

awesome, trying to decide between this and the LED trunk light...I don't use my cargo cover, but do have a CarGO mat in the trunk like you...was there room to install it on the base of the hatch (where the latch is) or does the CarGO mat block it's ability to light the trunk? Thanks

Yeah, for some I can see that being more useful, but I don't use the cargo tray (it is stored in my garage) and have my seats down half the time for storage...for my needs, mounting it lower would be better, I'm just wondering from the OP if that blocks anything - this is how deAutoKey has it on their site and in their main review video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIN7ah4r29A), but without the CarGO mat (which sticks up an extra inch or so)...basically for me, it is between this (mounted lower) or replacing the stock bulb with an LED

inc55 setup he created with our trunk strip is creative. You can also install it on the side or bottom with ho issues - side strip install:
The ring pops off, held by clips.

Installed some hatch LED lighting. I picked up a deautokey hatch strip but could not mount it in the suggested location because the hatch liner is in the way.

So I mounted the strip on the underside of the hatch cover lid, just under the lip.

I added a quick disconnect so if I am removing the hatch cover, I can unclip it easily.

Of course, that means if I am leaving the hatch cover off for more storage space, I lose that light. So I got spliced in another 2 strips off the main wiring and mounted a strip on either side as well.

The triple strip setup gives very even light coverage in the entire hatch.
Pitch black garage...only hatch lighting shown

Or on top - you can run wire through molding - the wire is long enough to reach anywhere in the trunk:

Must have missed the pissing contest. How's a glovebox light going to blind oncoming drivers?

I took it to mean replacement low beams for non-projector housings. I seem to remember there being at least one disgruntled member months ago, despite deauto maintaining that their bulbs, when installed correctly, do not blind oncoming vehicles like other aftermarket alternatives.

:) well said.

KyleAnderson - to go into more details, this member is trying to compare our H7RC kit meant for reflectors to ALL HID kits which is incorrect. It would be like saying all air bags are dangerous because of 1 recall, you can see how a company that has no reports problems or issues with a product would stand up against false unprivileged comments saying otherwise.
