What's the drop in EDs springs? Are those 19" VMRs?

They're almost definitely 18's, considering the remaining wheel gap. but ED springs are conservative. Some say smoother than stock, minimal drop.

Drop is rumored to be the same as VWR's (1.25"-1.5") and they're 18" wheels.

I went with 18's for 4 reasons:

1. I figured the drop would stiffen the ride ever so slightly and didn't want to stiffen it even more

2. I drive up to LA often and there are a lot of potholes / terrible roads

3. Though 19's DO look amazing depending on wheel choice, 19's can also make the rotors look tiny (read: bad) IMHO

4. Everything to do with 19's is more expensive (wheels and tires) as well as limited offerings (tires). For example, the Michelin Pilot Super Sports (that I have) have apparently been on back order for a while, and have ultimately been discontinued due to a newer tire coming out.

So far (2 days into it) the car rides incredibly well and I love everything about it: the look and the feel. The setup is an inch wider at 8.5" and of course the upgrade in tires along with the rear sway bar definitely drives better. In a straight line, the car totally feels stock.

I'd say if you're thinking 19's - consider your driving conditions. If the roads are amazing where you live, go for it. Me, I hit a crazy pot hole the day after I had the wheels put on. I was undeniably thankful for getting 18's.

Hope this helps any of you out there and good luck! As always - post pics. [emoji1360][emoji4]

Welcome to the club, I always see people posting they do 10-15K a year and I am jealous. I feel like at a minimum I do 20k a year driving.

I would love 10-12k a year. I average about 18-20k a year, so I usually get new cars every 5 years or so. Having said that, I love the Mk7. Half of me is tempted to get an old beater for commuting just so I can keep the miles down on this and keep it longer!
