Still thinking about getting a "proper" open intake, but the cost benefit ratio leans pretty strongly in favor of electrical tape right now.

More progress on the Audi. DP is off. Probably not essential for the engine pull, but it gives me a ton more clearance.
Having pulled the DP on my basic Golf and the now the Audi, it's much more of a pain with the prop and diff in the way. I don't remember having much trouble with the hanger bolts, but the Audi was a pain.
And the giant midpipe also made it harder to turn, and would have been easier had my jack stand not been in the way. But it came out just the same.
Also the sleeve clamp hardware was rusted out so it had to be cut off. Standard shitbox stuff.
Axles are unbolted, prop is disconnected and it's pretty much ready to pull next weekend.
