Did a lot yesterday since I just did not feel like going to work lol.
-Pulled center HVAC vents out and old volt gauge & pod in prep for new OEM vents going in
-Pulled shift knob and boot assembly/frame. Pulled boot frame off of boot and gave it to wife, along with the new shift knob and boot assembly. She transferred my red alcantara boot over to the new shift knob. I still need to pull the Cobb shift knob adapter that is on the stick.
-Pulled driver side HVAC vent w/gauge &pod, in prep for standard OEM vent going in.
-Prepped old boost gauge wiring for new boost gauge
-Prepped wiring for new volt/battery gauge
-Pulled (and broke) driver side defrost vent in prep for new Aeroforce dual gauge pod
-Ran wiring pigtail down to shifter area in prep for new illuminated shift knob.
-Pulled one of the two stuck radio keys in the glove box brain unit. I couldn't get the other one out.
-Looked at flow data for MPI kit w 980cc vs 1300cc
-Looked at flow data for the new turbo
-Looked at the RS3 LPFP standard and Pro in an effort to make a decision

Non car-related:
Worked on new gaming PC
-add power supply and connected
-discovered rgb fans need to be rotated 180 so I can daisy chain the two 3 sets together (doing that after work I guess)
-fired up and set the BIOS, then installed Win10 Pro
-installed all drivers
-set RGB lighting
-installed game launchers: Epic Games, BattleNet, League of Legends. (still need to install Steam)
-still need to Benchmark and add a couple parts for additional RGB lighting to work once they get there. (I think they show up today)
Where build thread? e: I can't read

Also PC sounds exciting, more PC info too. I'm a big nerd.

Finally got it back. Won't be buying another Southbend clutch.

I posted previously that i was having shifting issues essentially since i got the new clutch in which was July 30th. I chalked it up to new clutch and maybe have to wait until break in.

Like everything in my life, i wait too long thinking it's not an issue & plus i was broke so couldn't afford to take it in. Well finally took it in Oct 1st and they did a flush thinking it may be that. Nope... Didn't fix it.

Took it back in December and we discussed it's probably the pressure plate. All signs pointed to that (trouble getting into gear. Crawling forward while in gear with the clutch pushed in). So took out the clutch & sent it to Southbend. Took a while but they said it wasn't covered under warranty and charged for rebuild.

Talked to Zach & he said it probably wasn't broken in properly and it was wear and tear. If i had been tracking the car, i might've thought that, but i haven't tracked or autocrossed in a year. Also i actually waited 1000 miles before accelerating hard. I mean i have a 220k mile Scion on original clutch. I had a 180k mile Civic on original clutch that new owner still has on original at 260k.

I asked if it was worn clutch & not pressure plate, why did it not slip & just exhibited signs of bad pressure plate. He then changed story to maybe it was the slave which he mentioned was only covered for 90 days.

They basically refused to do any goodwill & his manager Marsiel has not called me back.

I was actually happy with my first 2 Southbend clutches. They lasted about 40k miles before slipping and that was with a lot of AutoX & track days. This one has none.

I guess this will be my last Southbend clutch.

TLDR: had a bad pressure plate on Southbend clutch within a couple thousand miles of install. Southbend refused to warranty as they said it's wear and tear.

Well damn, that's a bummer. I'm bad at reading, but I didn't see which clutch you're running. I'm about 15k in on my SB Stage 3 Daily, but I also haven't done any autocross or trackday stuff. Shame they wouldn't take care of you though, or at least make an effort. Got your eyes on a different clutch yet?

It's a stage 2 endurance.

And it went back in after the rebuild. Hopefully this will be the last clutch i need in this car. If i do go with something else, it'll probably be Ringer.

But don't get me wrong, i think they have decent clutches. My first 2 were good. Just the customer service & gaslighting that I did something wrong.

I mean honestly I think the customer service thing is worse. Everybody fucks up, but how you react when it happens is the real story.

I remember you talking about this a while back and thinking somethin just doesn't make sense here. The only logic I could understand is that you just simply got a bad clutch. Southbend should of corrected that no question asked, if not then I would switch brands. I've always used ACT and they never give me any grief, but then again their clutches just work- so that scenario has never happened. Good luck !

soat's your thing.

I like the clicky tactile feel of the wheels, they click when you turn them left and right and also click down. it is very satisfying. feels like the current climatronic controls.

it's worth noting that you do have access to the cars settings menu still and can change things like ACC and coming home features, etc. all within the androids software. you still have access to changing the way the car behaves even though this is aftermarket.

the sound is very good, better than stock
Hey, I'm super interested in buying this, I think this is the new link: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100....new_all_items_2007550554697.1005002599919262

Will this work in my Canadian 2015 MK7 GTI with Fender audio? It's an MIB1 system in my car. I bought that little bypass box to add android auto (similar box to the one in the Flying Dutchman youtube video) but if this lets me also upgrade the screen for a reasonable price I would install this

that's a completely different radio than the one I showed but made by the same company. if you send the seller a picture of your current radio setup they will confirm compatibility.

my mistake, got them mixed up - yours has a bigger screen and it looks like it extends into where the air vents are? I did message the seller yesterday but with he language barrier is a bit tough to feel confident it'll work, I had to ask a few times about the Fender audio before they sent me the additional fiber optic box (which I had learned about only from watching a youtube video of this brand of screen). Still not completely confident it'll work well since they don't really answer my questions well
