Mine is in fact General under honorable. DMV said under new policy the only qualifying discharge type is "honorable" - Joke is on them though, I'm about to have disabled vet status, so as soon as I get that, I will be getting plates back. I'm fairly sure I can't get the Desert Storm medal back on there, but at least I can get something.

Some senior rep at DMV did come over to assist the gal I was talking to, she said something about getting them to change it. - I am looking now on VA site on how to get that going.
I can’t get OIF plates because some S1 jackwagon forgot to update my orders to reflect I was IN country….

That is just stupid.

So I must have googled the question correctly, because I got the response of "under honorable conditions, General" is an eligible discharge status for military plates. I think someone at my local DMV fucked up, they just won't admit it. Guess where I am going at lunch break?

I know there’s other gov employees on here…

But seriously, if you think that forward facing employee sitting at the desk is the one to blame, you really should re-evaluate that perspective. They may not even be able to get an accurate interpretation of some new contradictory bloated policy.

I despise the government, but my skillset is best employed through the gov, not much in the private sector.

Put a diaper on the TSi, err, put a diaper under the TSi. Was tired of the minor flooding in my (heated) garage after parking with snow and ice attached to the car. I don't have a floor drain, and my floor is pretty uneven in spots, so water tends to flow to places I don't want it. This seems to be working well at capturing the water. You'll notice I don't have one under my 380; it stays indoors when the roads are sloppy.

Link to that and/or more info?

And what's your plan to "empty" it/clean it off? Or just let it accumulate, and eventually it'll dry, or what?

This is the one I bought, though as you'd expect there are tons of other choices on Amazon.

I just got it so am not sure what my method will be for when it gets a lot of water on it. It will be easy enough to drag it outside and lift one end to drain it, but that might create an icy driveway. The heater in my garage blows pretty hard so it should help evaporate a fair amount of water, but if it gets really full that could take a while. So not really sure. It may not be an ideal solution, but I still like it better than standing water eating away at the bottom of my garage walls and some cabinets etc. I have in there. So far not an ounce of water has escaped from it, so overall a win.

I guess this post goes in here, although I didn't really do anything to the car yet. And this post is a continuation of my post in the pickups thread.

Pulled the paddles apart and sure enough there's a small board in there. Can confirm no illumination but a couple SMD type resistors present.

The actual switch is a normal type, meter on the tabs (circled in blue) gives me less than 1 ohm when clicked... good.

So the modification will be to desolder both resistors (circled in red). That will electrically separate the red/black leads...

Then a bridge of solder in place of the 2201 (drawn in yellow)...

That will give me a paddle that works as a simple on/off switch when clicked. Install paddles to steering wheel, cut off the connector. Then pull apart the fob as mentioned before to solder my paddle switch "in place of" the fob button.

Gotcha and thanks

So did you secure it to the floor? (they recommended Velcro in the listing)
Or is the mat itself heavy enough to stay down by itself?
Do you think it can/could move?
Is it pretty thick?

And what are the "sides/walls" made of or filled with to "contain" water/snow?
Does it have 4 "walls"/raised lips or is the part where you drive in open (meaning 3 walled)?

I like the idea of it too, and could probably use one myself....just wondering more about it though, if you don't mind

And did you look at any other ones?
