Well... You may get exactly that. Just one day later and I think I see the tiniest sheen in the reservoir. I'm going to visit my favorite shop and get his opinion. Of course, the report from Blackstone will probably tell more.
Day 3:

What brackets do you have attached to the hood hinges? Sturdy enough for off-road lights?
They are ditch light brackets for the Alltrack, by Forge Motorsport. They're made to support small ditch lights. I drilled the 1/4" holes to 3/8" for my NMO antenna mounts. See their product page here. Here's a better look at my adaptation:

I added a clutch pedal extender to my '18 TSi. Let me preface this by saying that I'm 60 years old, physically fit, but now get annoyed by being jammed up against the dash and center console so I can sit close enough to fully or almost fully engage the clutch pedal. I also don't like the uncomfortable angle you need to have your gas pedal foot at -- more specifically my ankle -- with the stock set up. I love a manual transmission, but after having a DSG Alltrack for a few years I realized I liked having the seat slid back farther. So, this mod basically will allow me to keep driving manuals now that the comfort is on par with an autobox equipped car.

This pedal extender was obtained from ebay, and is actually custom made for manual transmission late model Camaros (lol). I eyeballed it and thought for 40 bucks I'll take a chance and see if I can get it to fit. It turned out it was too large by about 1mm in every dimension. But too small would have had no chance of working so I was relieved it was a little too big.
I then figured if I could line the part that goes around the pedal with some vacuum hose I might be able to get it to work.

The hose turned out to be too thick, so ended up cutting it in half lengthwise so that I ended up with two 'c' shaped remnants the same length as before (sorry no photos after I cut it, but I think you get the picture). This also in effect gave the pedal a channel to slot into. Worked perfectly, the pedal extender is super solid now.

I had previously installed this custom pedal extender in my 380 S and it makes that car much more liveable for me, but it was $250, so I thought I'd give the Camaro one a shot. At 1/5th the cost I'm a very happy camper.

Anyways, I'm 5'10", but these would have even more benefit for particularly short or petite drivers. The extenders would probably be a bit of a hindrance for any kind of competitive driving, but I was just after making the cars more liveable on a day-to-day basis and the extenders have definitely done that.

Renewed registration at the physical DMV, because my mail-in got returned, to my old address- which means it was sitting at the DMV when I got there. Would have been nice to have received a phone call stating something to the nature that they could not process my renewal due to policy change on veteran status and you no longer qualify. I was already expecting this when I caught wind of it during my last visit there a few months ago, and the rep there told me I would have difficulty renewing those plates once "new policy" takes effect. I tried to renew them back then, but they said they could not renew plates for a short duration. Anyway, I got screwed out of my Desert Storm plates and now have normal ass plates because some politician or whoever thought it would be cute to disqualify any DD214 that does not say exactly "honorable" discharge. I want to personally thank the individual responsible for this and am offering a reward to the first person that gets me a name. It wasn't the Texas Commissioner, already talked to him. He said they are getting numerous calls about this and my simple reply was "No shit, I can't imagine why."

yea I don't even know what to say, other than I would do a Will Smith slap to the responsible person, right in front of the president over this. - and possibly add a kick in the ass.

In my imagination you're somewhere between Hank Hill and Red Foreman, and I'm loving it. Thank you for your service.

I know it is a stupid reason, as you served... but it has been like that for a long time on a lot of states, I guess Texas DMV wasn't doing it right from the beginning. I had a few friends that didn't qualify as well, as only honorable or general under honorable conditions can qualify you for veteran benefits. You do know you can request an upgrade through either the discharge review board or the VA right?

Mine is in fact General under honorable. DMV said under new policy the only qualifying discharge type is "honorable" - Joke is on them though, I'm about to have disabled vet status, so as soon as I get that, I will be getting plates back. I'm fairly sure I can't get the Desert Storm medal back on there, but at least I can get something.

Some senior rep at DMV did come over to assist the gal I was talking to, she said something about getting them to change it. - I am looking now on VA site on how to get that going.

I guess they don't know their own rules... unless they differ for license plates. Right from their website.

.

Is that like a spacer for the pedal pad? I feel like this would be a great project for a 3D printed part that would cost next to nothing to get made. Would just need the dimensions of the pedal and the screw patterns.

I'm not sure which pedal extender you're talking about. For the Camaro one, you remove the OEM pedal pad which leaves you with a very thin plastic, pedal platform integral to the clutch pedal arm. Then the extender in effect 'clamps' around it, clamshell style. Once you remove the OEM pedal pad you would have the dimensions of the platform itself.

Same goes for the aluminum extender I added to my 380 -- 1st remove the OEM pedal pad, but because this one actually bolts to the pedal platform itself, it requires (very carefully) drilling two holes into the bottom portion of the platform using the manufacturer provided template as a guide (there are already two existing slotted holes at the top). Either way, once you remove the OEM pedal pad, you will have the dimensions for making the 3D part. For all I know, the Camaro one is, in fact, a 3D printed piece.

Here's a couple of better pictures of the aluminum one:

Has to be different for plates. The senior rep was very clear that I could not got them.

Filled out form DD149 for discharge review and have it ready to mail off. I hope they are smart enough to say yes. God help them if they tell me no.

A post office worker once told me I couldn't renew my US passport without proof of citizenship, while she was holding my US passport.

So, you know, don't trust EVERYTHING a government worker says to be true

Exactly, and I get easily annoyed by someone like that who gives me a vague answer. I asked the senior rep point blank who made this change and she said something like the government, we are just following those changes like we are supposed to do.
