I tuned mine myself but I'm pretty sure GLS Performance is on the west coast and has tuned DTRs. Not sure exactly where he is but like everyone you can send him logs and he can refine the tune

are you just running the APR file?
I'm running the 91 awd file and apr downpipe.

Sending logs is what I'm not interested in. I want someone to be in the car doing it themselves. Literally considering paying for a flight and letting someone stay in my guest room because that's more convenient. 🤔

If you have a shop with a dyno local, I'm sure someone will remote tune it

I have. I believe they're a vendor and "installer" but not the person doing the tuning itself.

I know people use EQT, etc., but I feel more comfortable with someone who knows what they're doing, doing all the tweaks in real time, rather than be being a drawn out process over weeks. I'd like to go somewhere in the morning, and be set by the evening. Of course I'd like to be present so I can warch/learn, but I have a kindergarten understanding of ECUs and I want master's degree level to do the execution, if that makes sense.

So they are a send logs type of company. They send logs to the team of engineers in the UK and then change files as needed and send back to upload.

I totally get what you’re saying tho, being in real time and done and not sending files back and forth. Good luck with your goals!

Got a lot done over the weekend. Finished re-paint the CS rear wing so it is now ready to mount. The replacement low beam ballast came in and the driver side DRL ballast, so I pulled the new assemblies back out and swapped those in, then they went back in the car. Installed my Schroth quick fit harness for the driver seat, man that was a pain in the ass, and Im not even sure I used the right mounting points. The trim pieces are a paint to get to pop free, even using a trim tool. It's in though. My new front bumper is at the shop and is painted and gets clear today or tomorrow. I got Lamin'X for the headlights showing up today. My ECS rear diffuser came in and a so did my cf front grille. I took some time dismantling the front grille and removing the VW emblem, so that it can go on the new grille. Trying to decide on where or not to paiint the VW part in the emblem GTI red, to add contrast.

Do you think headlights should be done professionally or can I get something to work if I've never done film applications before? I want to protect my osrams from uv damage and peeling

This is one of those things I said fk it and had a professional do. It was only like 150 dollars and it's on there for at least 5 years. Worth the cost vs. hassle.

I never did film before either and did my fogs. I should have protected my headlights from the car being new but I was stupid. I am definitely a believer now. Honestly the Lamin X kits being pre-cut they just go right on. I had one corner on the passenger side where I had to take an exacto knife to it, but we are talking millimeters here, and I have OCD lol. Any kit from them is easy to apply. I will try to share photos of my Lamin X headlight kit install sometime this week after it is installed.

What mounting points did you use that you're unsure about? I did the Rallye 3 (not the same, but close enough) and might be able to provide some insight, or at least someone else who's done similar.

I did the Lamin-X precut for my foglights and the application was super easy. I don't think you'd have a problem doing headlights, particularly if you're doing the pre-cut and follow the directions.

I'm not familiar with lamin-x products but I'm building a cart now lol

What tint level do yall suppose I should get for rear reflectors to match the dark cherry euro tails?

Seat anchor bolt left side/rear. I know everyone uses the lower bolt in the seatbelt anchor in the pillar behind the trim, but I could not get the trim to pop loose plus I know that location is a lot more headache. Also used rear seat oem belt anchor location. Those pieces I was able to get trim to pop free, although not completely. I had just enough room to get a triple square in on the bolt.

To be specific, I'm referring to the lil reflector strips under the bumper
Oh yea, misread. Definitely a tint then. On yours I would do charcoal. Mine are cherry red, so idk I need to figure that out lol.

Hmmm, the closer to parallel to the ground the tailstraps are, the better -- but Schroth is pretty clear about the mounting points they want. The QuickFit uses the rear seatbelt receiver and lower belt mount point by design, right? Idk, I used to have a much more acute angle to my tailstrap but corrected it after advisory from a good friend who's been involved in motorsports far longer, and to a far higher degree.
