Found out why I went from 32psi peak to barely 20psi. The passenger side coupling for the majesty twintercooler decided to give out.

I could replace the coupler, but I think this is a sign that it’s time to upgrade to a better quality IC.

For now I’ll just run just the stock IC and drive chill.

Clean it and it should. Overlap edges when you wrap it. Easiest try
Bought some flex seal tape and made a bandaid fix. I need to take the bumper off to get the couplers back on so that will have to wait until after work tomorrow.

Hopefully it holds for a while, but I’ve decided to get a Baun FMIC to replace it anyway.

Finally consistently back in the 12s even with Hawaii air and 92 octane! Tracked my poor performance to DSG temps. The DSG fluid gets hot, heating up the coolant in the heat exchanger which then heats the engine oil. I saw 40 degree temp increases on one pass! The DSG fluid temps also heavily impact shift speed. My first to second shift is great, but second to third is slower and third to fourth even slower. If I let the car sit for 10-15 min then in between passes it had no issues. Interesting I never experience problems during autocross, must be related to back to back "v-max launches." I may try the R/Clubsport auxiliary coolers prior to a dedicated DSG cooler. Final challenges are to figure out why it's still slower off the line and I'm only gaining 20mph on the back half.

Replaced my serpentine belt after ~142k miles. I'm assuming a small rock introduced itself to the belt as I've never seen one damaged like this before. There's no evidence of deterioration/cracking and the cross hatching still looks great.

No photos but I started on the Aerofabb diffuser install. Fairly straightforward, holy shit rivnuts are magic. Tried trimming a mudflap to see if I could get it to fit with the diffuser -- no luck there, but I'm going to try to pick up another right side mud flap to have a full set in good shape regardless. Ordered some cheap zhongzhong rallyarmor knockoffs because I still like mudflaps, but I'm planning to trim them up significantly. For whatever reason the bottom outer pair of screws on the mudflap are being difficult, but it got too hot outside to continue playing around with the car so I'll have to get behind the bumper later on and see what's going on there.

CS Wing update- re-sanded down and shot another coat of color. It dried weird and the paint cracked all over. Sanded it all back down to nothing and shot this time a different primer. Will see how that looks after work today.

I installed a set of AliExpress magnetic switch paddle shifters.

The installation was easy: pull the airbag and steering wheel trip off. Remove 2 screws holding the stock paddle shifter brackets on, remove factory brackets, install magnetic ones, and then put everything back together the way it came apart.

It moves the paddles a little further away from the driver, which is fine for me, but people with smaller hands may have issues. The paddles are much more mechanical feeling and require a little more effort to pull (but not bad at all).

Here are the ones I got

Pretty neat. Looked for a bit but seems they only come in carbon fiber?

Most of them are cf, I wasn’t to sure about it at first but I actually like the cf look. It’s a small piece so it’s subtle.

Looks like you can get some different paddle shapes and materials here.

How is the clearance between the top of the left paddle and the turn signal stalk?

There was some stick on cheap paddles on my car when I bought it that put the paddles so close to the stalk it was uncomfortable to use the paddles.
