Brake fluid or engine oil?
This was unfortunately brake fluid. I think the oil looked cleaner during that drain than how this looked...eeek

No clue, this was the only thing not specifically called out on the Carfax. The PPI said 4% contamination so I don't think it could be that old but honestly I don't know. How many miles?
Looking good! did you just hose it down and dry off? Need to do mine soon, was checking my mounts trying to find an excuse to get BFI's and its just kinda gross in there lol. Not sure if power washing it is the best idea lolDecided it was time for my bi-yearly engine bay cleaning. I didn’t get a before pic, but you can see all the grime that covered my floor after.
I took the filter off and zip tied a bag over the intake. Then I used a pressure washer and held it about 18” away and kept it moving. Then sprayed Griot’s engine cleaner spray, let it sit, rinsed it with the pressure washer, and use a leaf blower do dry it.Looking good! did you just hose it down and dry off? Which wheel are you going to get?
The only thing I’m really scared about is electrical components getting damaged. Because if it’s gonna happen to anyone, it would be me maybe using a sprayer with just water and some soap would be the best way, avoiding battery and alternatorI just can't bring myself to do it. It's one of those things that I know is reasonably safe, but I just can't bring myself to hose down/pressure wash an engine bay. It just feels wrong.
Pressure washer I would be worried about. Using a nozzle on a hose in a low pressure setting like a "shower" pattern is fine, higher pressure near the non electric parts. After rinsing I use air to blow away and wipe away most of the water and then let the car run for about 10 minutes to steam away any remaining moisture.I just can't bring myself to do it. If you keep 18-24" away and have a wide spray nozzle, you'll be fine. Every connector is built to be incredibly water resistant, and it sprays out much less water than the shower setting on your garden hose. It's a <10 year old German car, not a 1960s soviet shitbox. As long as there's distance, constant movement, and you're not saturating up close, there's literally nothing wrong. If something were to go wrong, it was already a problem and you just identified it.I just can't bring myself to do it. How many miles on it?Found out why I went from 32psi peak to barely 20psi. The passenger side coupling for the majesty twintercooler decided to give out.
I could replace the coupler, but I think this is a sign that it’s time to upgrade to a better quality IC.
For now I’ll just run just the stock IC and drive chill.
