Did yours make what I can only describe as a "creaking" noise for a bit?
The car hasn’t been out of the driveway yet. But if I hear anything I’ll report back.

That foam did not look happy.
I don’t have the composite oil pan anymore…. switched out to a metal pan couple years ago, so the board did not necessarily lay perfectly flat against the pan. Daughters pool noodle was all I had to use for cushion, and I’m glad I did lol

I hate the v2 BFI mounts. They don't stay tight. Every 2k miles I'm retightening them. The non-serrated conical mating surface on the Allen head bolt doesn't stay tight. You also can't torque it enough or it starts to strip. Once they get loose they eat the lower insert. I've emailed BFI and complained to no avail. I understand this style looks prettier, but it's less functional. The original 13mm shoulder head bolt design was so much better. I've been trying to find a washer with a conical surface so I can swap to a normal bolt. May just have to draw it up in cad then have one made on a cnc/lathe. The other option is have a new top plate made I guess.

Went camping and finally visited Kolekole park for the first time since its reopening in April. Was so stoked to see the pile of former HCR rail!

Gave the GTI some attention today after spending too much time with the RS3 lately lol.

Finally tackled my rear shock mounts - driver side was clunking pretty bad. Replaced the 034s with a new set (thanks to FCP Euro's warranty). Seems they have revised these mounts in the last few years, as the old set had a poly bushing, and the new ones are rubber. The poly was absolutely toast, so hoping the new rubber replacement ones last much longer. If they fail again, I'll just go back to OEM.

Also found the source of my intermittent SAI "insufficient flow" fault code and CEL. Cracked pipe leading to the combi valve. Gorilla taped it up to see if that solves the issue - don't feel like spending $150 plus on such an inconsequential pipe if I can help it.

Just did my first ever brake swap. New rotors and pads in the front! Will do rears in a couple weeks. 110750 miles on the original brakes. Very thankful my parents let me take over their garage.

Old pads:

Old nasty rotors:

I used the lifting locations where the Audi jackpads go to raise the fronts onto stands. I am compelled to post these pictures because of this video.

The jacking location is SUPER easy to access. Just remove one screw then pull the aero panel backward. A hockey puck would fit the lift point perfectly but I just used what I had:

I have no experience with 034 parts personally but I feel I hear their name come up often in regards to poor parts.
