Hook me up with the Linux based LCD climatronic controls.

But yeah. The partial retrofit if you just do the two sensor method (although, I wouldn't put it past you to retrofit the actual ducting) is very jank.
Dammit, it's still in my hatch but made it's way under the floor with the small tool kit and air pump, haha. I'll send it.

So can that aliexpress digital screen one with with a regular manual climate car and just not have the climatronics function?

I just want that one for the screen look and as long as it turns on and off heat and cool and adjust my blower speed I’m good with it
It has the option to work without the addition of any sensors for manual HVAC cars. It can also take input from one sensor, although I don't know if that means going into full (and thus jank-y) climatronic mode or if you can have it just do automatic temp control.

If it just provides auto temp function but "respects" everything else about a manual HVAC car it's probably a better option the OEM climatronic panel. You will have to ignore seeing functions your car doesn't have, and in the TDI ignore that the dashboard view has a gasser tachometer... but you don't ever have to look at this page. And it has controls for scent ionizers... maybe I won't send it to @Acadia18 after all.

I'd imagine it'll have some issues, because it's made for the dual zone setup. The same as putting in the regular or capacitive panel. Just more fancy.
The "good" thing is it doesn't show on scan so you can't see any faults. But that also means you can't complete the compressor run-in or flap-stop procedures (or maybe I don't remember how they were run, been a while). I do remember that in my manual HVAC car the air flow, compressor, recirc and temp control all worked. Which is more than I can say for the partial OEM retrofit.

Did it have the issue where you couldn't have footwell and windshield defroster on at the same time? I remember that was the biggest thing that annoyed me about the partial retrofit with the climatronic control units in a non-dual zone car.

I think when I had the AliExpress touch screen panel in everything function just like my manual HVAC controls. Either way it wouldn't be an issue for you, your car has climatronic, doesn't it?

It will always be an issue with the partial retrofit because the climatronic panel can't properly control the door on a manual HVAC car.

It will be a big cost for you - because your clutch most likely won't hold. Grab a used IS38 and a tune for $100 and give'er. Jonny will knock it out for you for a gentle hand job, most likely.
Brother my clutch couldn't handle the stage 2 tune lol. I've got the ACT in there now. It's doing all right, I don't mind a little chatter.

I can't just settle for an IS38, gotta be faster than Daks.

I didn't know the ACT was rated for 500 lbft. You can be faster than Daks in the US very easily, you have E. MPI, turbo, tune. Very fast car. I've been test driving cars over the last month; everything is a disappointment compared to the GTI when you give it. New Golf R is a lot slower than my car. Those hybrids really make a difference.

Yep, has the dual zone climatronic. Was just more curious than anything.

E is very scarce in the Greater Boston Metropolitan Area. There's like, 4 stations that have it?
