Honestly the cost is reasonable for the intended audience. Think of the amount of manhours it takes to integrate anything into such a computer heavy car as ours. R&D, parts making, and the wiring, not counting the programing and lockouts to work around. Way too rich for my blood, but not an absurd price for what you get.

Worked on my android auto connectivity issues. I have a d-dock and i didn't want to ditch it -- it gives the phone storage compartment a vlean look.
I don't like that the dock comes with a six foot cable, so i cut up the cable, pulled it apart, and rejoined the ends. My first time doing this kind of stuff to usb cables. I also used some glue to secure the 90 degree angle usb c port to the dock to keep it from shifting as I'm inserting the phone.
I also hated that the dock was not as secure in its niche as i would have liked it to be, so i drilled the dock and installed two screws with red loctited nuts that i can now move up and down with a wrench to secure the dock and keep it from moving.

Did the engine not need removing for timing chain change?

Got the MK7 back today after being at the shop for a day. 100k mile service gets new timing chain, serpentine belt and BFI stage 1 engine mount. Transmission mount isn’t going in til I do the clutch. First impressions regarding the engine mount. Interesting. I like it. Vibration is definitely there. Car feels and sounds more like a race car in way bc of the vibration. Engine feels super stable. Won’t be able to go WOT til I replace the clutch since it’s currently slipping. Glad I did this mod. View attachment 292858View attachment 292857

GTI was WAY overdue for a paint decontamination / correction. Now I really need to get the tint fixed.

They removed the engine mount and worked like that. Didn't have to remove the engine.

Back in my Mk6 days all I wanted was dark cherry euro tails, and short of the color the original mk7 tails are kinda based off those, so I’ve always liked them.

Myself with help from those who came before me. Learning a lot and have been able to do a lot on my own, need hand holding for other things, etc.

It’s time consuming and I have pages of notes after just a few days of tinkering, but it’s not outrageously difficult. Just takes time and patience. And a lot of 3rd gear pulls
