Not all that common yet, in August user DerHase made a great document showing the MK7 PCV's shortcomings along with the shortcomings of oil catch cans on our cars. The new MK8 PCV valve looks to have some significant engineering improvements and some early data looks promising. Read about it here.
thank brotha. that was a good thread

Get it right away! The sales are typically enticing though. You going ots or custom for the tuning? I would like a 4in downpipe though I'll have to hit him up to see if he'll do that sizing.
Do it, all the cool kids are  mine should be coming by the weekend and then it's party time baby

do I get the stage 2 tune right away, or wait for it to be a little cheaper with a presumed sale in November for boost weather?

Just going to go EQT OTS for Stage 2 93, currently Stage 1 91. I'm very happy with it, just wanted the car to be a bit noisier so that's why I got the exhaust goodies. I got a screaming deal on a used Baun downpipe (PO was upgrading to 4", lol) and I've got Jake building me a Vibrant resonated midpipe to dial in that perfect sound, but I may get impatient and run the downpipe sans the resonator ahead of time. I don't think there's a massive delta in price with boost weather sale anyway, so it might just happen.

Long term goal is EQT S2 IS38+ and stop there, the rest is just tires/suspension/braking. The car's a hoot, and I'm enjoying each time I do something and there's some more power and/or something new to enjoy about it.

The most thorough information on the physical install of additional LEDs is by @IWMTom, in this thread. I can not imagine it being described, detailed and pictured any better.

Now as for the actual LEDs there are a few choices...
  • You can get one of the kits that was used in the above mentioned thread. These are non-OEM LEDs with custom controllers. They can be used on facelift or non-facelift cars.
  • You can just do single color LEDs... easiest way to do this is just order a dashboard/rear door "stick" kit from Ali Express...
  • Finally, the OEM (nearly, as this wasn't an OEM option on the Golf) is to install separate LEDs, all controlled by the BCM (must be a facelift BCM) and the Infotainment (must be at least MIB 2)
Thanks a bunch. I would love to add a strip above the glove compartment.

Can't pass on a screaming deal that's for sure! You are going to love the sound with the down pipe! But man I totally said that same thing just gonna go with stage 2 and call it good lol it's a trap I'm telling you. Then it's oh I wish it would stop a little better boom big brakes. I like the r height but I really want to take that gap up a tad boom lowered. Now the gap looks good but I'm no longer digging the wheels and boom wheels. Well I'm already this deep, might as well keep going. That's the story of how I put about 22k into my Golf R over the past year 😂🤣 damn

The piece of sheet metal that came with my BMS intake never fit right, and the rain cover I made out of ABS looked even worse (my hood vents are right above the filter)

So an hour or so in Fusion, and 24 hours of printing later I have a new airbox top.

It will eventually have the other piece to make this a "nearly" closed intake, but piece was too big for my printer to do in one go, and I ran low on filament, so I'll finish that later.
