i honestly think stage 1 is really unnecessary for me for this car unless they bring 50 ponies like the last gen then its ok for me, especially in a shitty state like VA driving 80+ its at least mandated court date. Maybe i'll get some 19 ibs. lightweight wheels from neuspeed and better tires and i think the car may will be complete.

i can speak my experience with my mk6 gti stage 1. in 5th gear on highway for instance, you can get to 75-80 mph in 3 seconds from 55mph. The power delivery is more jerky with the way i put it when boost kicks in, but the car doesn't seem to have linear acceleration as stock, technically you feel like driving an electric car when you pass someone on highway, stage 2 seems to solve the issue but never experienced, i believe ill wait for 2 and see what happens. I can't speak for sport mode as well on DSG as my mk6 was manual.

MK7 GTI w/ lightweight wheels = mk6 stage 1, in my opinion.

Is APR and Uni similar in where on the RPM meter they provide the power ?
You mean even lighter wheels then stock? How light you need to go to make a difference?
Does wheel weight afect torque? In the world of wheels light=expensive.

Yep same

Yes lighter than stock. Our Austin wheels are 25ibs a wheel alone, just like Detroits on mk6. Neuspeed wheels are 19ibs, due to their lightweight it provides better rotational mass, better acceleration and makes the car faster, not a whole lot obviously. Neuspeed's in particular for a lightweight wheel is not expensive, around ~$1,200 a set; there are lot more alternatives in different brand like Enkei or OZ, cost at least ~$2,000 a set and thats a lot for wheels. Neuspeeds seem to have better quality on wheels than OZ as i saw them bent.

You don't know how lucky you have it in the US. A UK gallon of standard unleaded works out at $8.36

That's probably the cheapest it's been in the uk for nearly 2 years. Crazy.

Had a busy night! Installed some parts from my old car. A VWR short shift kit, with 42 DD end link bushings, and Torque solutions shifter cable bracket bushings. Total shifter overhaul! It feels so good. It's Very short and precise. Pops right into every gear with no hesitation. It's beautiful.

Also installed the GFB DV+. :) tomorrow morning the VWR springs go on! :D

How does the shift feel? I am looking at a SS kit, but I don't want to have a loud transmission or harsh cold shifts, something I've always found with those.

Sent from my Galaxy S5

Its amazing. It's the same shifter i had on my mk6. Combined with all the other shifter mods i did, it's perfect. Very short, (maybe even too short.. mines adjustable, so i might lengthen it ever so slightly.) It feels very mechanical and precise. No added noise or vibrations aside from a reassuring click you get with each gear engagement. Cold shifts are fine. The gear oil will affect that more than anything though. Stick with Oem Gear oil. No reason to change it.
