What did you do to your mk7 today?

Installed the MK7 back-lit overhead front dome and the matching rear (that isn't backlit - I thought it would be...a bit bummed). I had replaced my interior halogen lights with LEDs when I got the car which were super bright but really too bright...the new consoles are LED but a bit more mellow with the output but same cool-white color temp. You loose the individual driver's side control for the all-on button but that doesn't bother me.

Got them here:

I think this may have been the first real "mod" I did after getting my Mk7.5 and honestly is one of my favorite re-contenting bits. Cannot believe they removed the LEDs, such an absurd penny pinching move.

Hear me out, what if you could build wheels made of brake dust?

Every time you brake, a vacuum pump sucks up all the brake dust: in return becomes a service on vehicles every whatever miles. Send the pounds and pounds of dust to a forge and make wheels?

Def some scientific shit behind that

my '2000 cars wheels are pitted a little bit allowing the brake dust to fully embed and I can't seem to make it look any better

in theory, then pressing on the brake pedal would simply just push the rotors against the wheels.....instant 18" BBK

But are they properly grounded now just being pressed against the coil pack?
Yes, I think, as there’s a metal ring on the pack. It’s basically the same setup as stock in terms of sandwiching-ness. I could be wrong — but no issues on the test drive and no misfires 🤷‍♂️. For not even $10, it’s a nice frustration saver. Oh, and the washer between the ground wire and the bolt head prevents it all from spinning together when you tighten. It’s a little thing but it’s handy
