Can't speak for UM, but there are tables that can be modified that deal with cold start for this platform. You can tweak fuel, RPM, TPS position, timing, along with other things.
Well crap…. Good to know I guess

Torqued to spec, blue loctite on the two back bolts.

Initial thought after only a quick drive taking the long way to the grocery store... I don't notice much of a difference. I mean, I didn't have wheel hop due to AWD, but was curious about smoother shifts and reduced NVH. I guess no change is better than a bad change? We'll see how I feel after putting more miles on it.
Interesting. I noticed instantly from initial startup. I also went from powerflex red insert to yellow at the same time and still a huge improvement. I also noticed a huge improvement when backing into my garage and letting the dsg engage reverse and move the car without any throttle. That was where i noticed the most NVH.

Finally put my fuel door back together after someone pried it open and it needed a new door painted and a ding PDR'd out. Replaced the lock actuator as well, which I believe is why it got pried in the first place (it was sticking in the locked position and eventually quit locking altogether). I didn't feel like taking apart the hatch interior to get at the actuator harness plug, so I snipped the broken one, slid the grommet off, and used butt connectors to attach the new actuator to the old wires. Stuffed the extra wire back through the hole and popped the new grommet in and it's good to go, locked and unlocked first try. Popped the new painted cover on, with the help of some dish soap on the clips, and went over the whole area real quick with my DA. It's not perfect but it's good enough to match the rest of the car lol.

Did they just ship from Germany or are they made in Germany?

If they’re actually made in Germany I’m buying a set and ditching these Ed’s BEC reps
Hell, now that BMP sells almost the exact same light for nearly $900 you can sell the ole Ed’s and recoup a decent amount.

Removed the transmission, downpipe, and charge pipes (for a great deal on an EQT upgrade) in preparation for new parts. Pretty strait forward and was a lot of fun. I got some opinions from well trusted people regarding the flywheel. However, compared to the pressure plate, the flywheel feels smooth where the clutch rides so I’m going to go ahead and replace that as well with an OEM DMF. I have about 3 days to wait so…if I have time, there’s way more room to get to the turbo with the LSD out. We shall see how much free time I have this weekend.

Edit: yea the lsd is out of the way but the engine support beam would make it a pain to get to the turbo on the top side.

Osram is a German based company, but if you're worried about quality they have a pretty rigorous quality testing and warranty them for 2 years. They're sold in the EU as replacement lights and ECE approved.

I checked them out on their site, just curious where they’re manufactured. Being street legal in the EU & offering a warranty are both great selling points for sure! Just would hate to spend twice the money and have the same longevity issues I’m seeing with the current reps.

I purchased the Ed’s reps on a time crunch because I was in an accident (deer) & driving without an entire headlight assembly several years ago. Functionally they’re great, but cosmetically haven’t held up as well as I expected and the engineering aspect leaves a lot to be desired (bulb swaps suck, because they were clearly an afterthought).

Getting them closer to clearing on full air out!

Have the cjm strut tower cutting guide on the way so I can open the current hole from 2.5” to 3” and fully slide in the camber plates… sucks cause if I didn’t have to run a 3mm spacer for the 10.5 to clear the strut body it would be clear at this point.

It’s only about 1/4” away from my full air out height too 🤷🏼‍♂️
