Pinned the “killer dowel pin” & did the front main seal on the Cummins, threw a fresh air filter & pre filter off the the R33 on the GTI & swapped the OEM GLI wheels on so my Audi set could go out for powdercoat.

Would be a productive day, but the GLI wheels needed 15mm of spacer to clear the BBK so between that and the larger 225/45-18 they rub the fenders more than I’m ok with over bumps.

The other issue being the powdercoat shop is held up waiting on fans for their new spray booth.View attachment 262821View attachment 262822View attachment 262823View attachment 262824View attachment 262825

So now I’m torn. Do I just have my fresh set of MPSAS4 I’ve got sitting here mounted on the Audi wheels, find a different powder coat shop/wait for the local one & drive the suburban in the meantime.

I’m leaning towards just letting the car sit until I get the local shop to do the wheels because that’s been my plan all along…just feels wasteful to get 16mpg in the Burb for a week or two running it as a daily.

Wow, those Polanko wheels look so, so, so much better on a GTI than the GLI.

I figured if I’m gonna daily the Burb for a while I should at least install the suspension I’ve had on the shelf for it.

So this morning it got 2.5” body Bilstein 6112 B8s up front & 5100s in the rear.

Now it’s at Firestone getting its free alignment & my Audi wheels are at a more reputable shop having the old tires removed for powder coat prep.

I’ll have a video up this weekend with a full review, but needless to say it’s a vast improvement over the OEM set I pulled off.

Today I tried to swap on my RPF1s to prep for a weekend at the track. Got to the last wheel and one of the bolts got tighter as I turned left.... I pushed through it and it just kept spinning. An hour later I finally got the cross threaded bolt out. The threads on the hub are toast so I can only use 4/5 bolts for now. Hoping I can figure something out and make it to the track on sunday but not confident ill be able to source and install a hub tomorrow.

Banged the quarter panel with my breaker bar too. I should stick to working on computers....
