What year is your car? The windows and horn on my 2017 both require a good bit more force than my previous (also new) carsReplaced my window switch on the drivers side. I put my windows down every time I drive my car. The switch to put the driver’s window down started to have issues. First the auto-roll stopped working, would have to hold the switch down. After a while I had to press down hard to put the window down. It got so bad I had to push down really hard and then the buttons all stopped working. Broke the bottom piece off. I was able to get one for less than $40 from ShopDAP. I believe its aftermarket, the new one feels alot better as in sturdy. To roll the window automatically you gotta give more effort on the switch. OEM is very gentle, if you’re not gentle you’ll end up breaking the switch like I did.

2017 GTI S build late 2016. The amount of money I spent of fixing shit. What year is your car? The windows and horn on my 2017 both require a good bit more force than my previous (also new) cars
It just listed all the different models and years affected. What do the post cards clarify? Anything different than the letters that went out recently?
I had the same thing happen with the leather on my ebrake and it was such a pain in the ass to get off and I could never get the factory OEM one I ordered as a replacement to go back on the whole way. It was just a hair off, but would cause the button to stick. I ended up saying the hell with it and switched it out with an aluminum ECS one. It's held up well and the finish has held up well in the sun, and the install was tooooons easier than fighting with the press fit stock one.2017 GTI S build late 2016. -Injectors (cylinder 2 went bad)
-Bleeder block (had delay valve delete, it ended up blowing leaking all the fluid out)
-Factory speakers blew
-E Brake leather peeled off
Add the window switch to the list.
It really was a pain in the ass. You need to put one leg on the drivers side and the other in the passenger side. Regarding the issue you experienced, mine was off as well and the button wouldnt click normally. All you gotta do is pull the ebrake up, get a rag, wrap it around the tip of the lever and hit/tap a hammer on the edge and it would slide into place perfectly. this is my plan. stage 1 when the warranty is up. good to hear.Crossed 100k today. APR stage 1 from 50k, still on the factory clutch. Bought new in late 2014, never had a CEL. Only failed parts on the car so far have been a driver visor light that was DOA, a window switch, and a suspension part that clunked. Overall, extremely happy with the car.
