Just ordered mine from ME last Thursday as well. Shopping for a downpipe while I wait for it to come in. Are you running a stock DP? If so, how's it sound!?! :)

Yup, stock downpipe. It sounds really good. First aftermarket exhaust for me but definitely happy with the choice. Personally I wouldn't want it any louder. Its a big difference over the stock catback. It's a nice clean deep tone though. Cold start and idle is awesome. And it really opens up over 4K rpm. I wish it was slightly less present when cruising but who knows maybe that will change a bit as it breaks in and overall I'm very happy.

what exactly do you mean "ordered"??

isn't this just an appt at a speed shop and you're done?

I feel like a NooB but sometimes I feel like people say they bought a tangible item and called that a tune lol

other than a JB1 my impression of a tune is really just an ECU flash like Revo, etc

For Eurodyne one can and most do use a flash tool they can use to flash the ECU themselves. I too am waiting for my tool to arrive.

ahhhh ok ok, but then the car isn't put on the dyno and actually tuned, it's just a quick ECU flash

in my time a tune meant get the data from the dyno and adjust for optimal power and optimal safety to not kill the car

Well now there's something called electricity and it powers these new things called computers.

hey don't get me wrong, if I can skip the shop time then I will, I just thought a tune meant get it on the dyno and make sure your fuel, air, etc is correct for the best possible power to the ground while keeping it safe for a long term daily driver

Not in this day and age, on these ECUs. At least on our platform 90% of tunes are "canned" or 1 ECU map fits all, produced in "Stages" which are designed for specific sets of Bolt on mods (i.e. Stg 1 = no supporting hardware necessary, intake increases HP slightly, Stage 2 = downpipe installed, clears CEL, stage 2+ or 3 = IS38 installed, stage 3/3+/4 = Big Turbo setup like the newly released APR BW EFR turbo). The ECUs on these cars are really smart and adaptive so canned tunes pose essentially no risk to the engine despite varying conditions. There've even been people running IS38's without an IS38-specific tune, albeit with less-than-ideal conditions.

hmm ok I guess I am no longer "in the loop"

I was up to stage 2+ at one point on my mkv, so maybe that's why I thought about the dyno and adjustments.

Thanks for the order. If you are looking for another downpipe outside of AWE have you seen our Project MK7? We are running the Unitronic downpipe on our car

Jcoe, looks amazing. Do you have DCC? If you do how does it work with those springs?

Thanks

Thanks! No DCC here. The Emmanuele Design springs are linear and DCC compatible though just like VWR springs, so they work great on the stock struts, etc. I got them when they were on introductory pricing a couple weeks back for $220, but I believe now they're pretty much the same price as the VWR.

As far as ride quality goes, they've been great. It pretty much rides like stock, just lower. No excessive bouncing, no knocking, no rubbing.
