Sorry boys, I kinda wanna build these now. Cant wait to do round two next winter (it’s getting a turbo or supercharger).
The Megs lasts about 3 months with bi-weekly washes and being outside 24/7, so I’m happy with that.I was out of Menzerna PO85RD. Sometimes you've got to just use what you've got. Have you considered a ceramic coating for longer lasting protection, topped by a wax?
Regreased Moog endings, installed Neuspeed pitch mount insert (no more wheel hop, but too much vibration at idle), mounted FK510s on my other set of RSE16s, retightened up rear subframe (shifted when I spun on 200tw tires) , got car aligned, then swapped on my FK510s. Reset VAQ adaption too.
So nice to be able to accelerate without wheel hop, but will likely find a different pitch mount insert that has less vibration.
Thanks, I'll give it some time then.I’m not familiar with Neuspeed, but BFI and others settle and and become much more livable after 500-1,000 miles.
Mine lasted 100,000 miles with much more power than stock. The track racing you do must have had much more impact than a stock car would endure. Thanks, I'll give it some time then.
It's crazy that VW couldn't have found a better compromise with engine mounts. They aren't even adequate for the car stock.
The car has severe wheel hop with stock power and brand new engine mounts, so it's not a matter of wear, it's a matter of design.Mine lasted 100,000 miles with much more power than stock. The track racing you do must have had much more impact than a stock car would endure.
You must have a manual trans. The car has severe wheel hop with stock power and brand new engine mounts, so it's not a matter of wear, it's a matter of design.
I do.You must have a manual trans.
Thanks Jake! One for the paddle shifter guys, since I recently did a clutch 101 video for the manuals
