R variant window spoilers and bumper/diffuser installed! Even with no exhaust tips it looks so much better than the fake "exhaust" outlets.

Took it in to put the ST40's on after getting wider 18x9 Rennforms (because I didn't want to run spacers) only to find out Rennforms really don't have good caliper clearance and I'll need a 3mm spacer. ? .

Also ordered slotted rear Stoptech rotors and pads to match front.

Depending upon the thickness of your current brake pads you might need thicker spacers to account for the new pads you're getting. I have an 18 SE and got Motegi 17" wheels to reduce weight and tire size price and when they were installed the wheels cleared the calipers. Then when I needed new pads the calipers were hitting the spokes on the wheels due to the increased thickness of the new pads. I had to have my old pads reinstalled and get spacers.

This was with brand new pads.

I washed her finally...and installed Jake's resonator. I read his post on getting the sound you want from your exhaust. I installed an IE downpipe and I have been enjoying the performance increase. But not liking the harshness (best I can describe it) of the exhaust with the stock DP removed. I took Jake's advice and ordered one of his Vibrant resonators and it sounds great, the harshness and droney sound have disappeared. I am old enough I don't want my car to sound like it has a fart can and this did the trick.

Practiced removing the turbo heat shield since I received a Forge turbo blanket in the mail today. Won't be able to install it until next weekend, but wanted to see if I really do need a ball allen wrench for one of the shield bolts. Turns out I don't since I can remove it with my tiny 1/4" torque wrench. One less thing to worry about.

Went to the muffler shop and got some mufflers and tips welded on for the R valance. I also tried to install the folding mirrors, but the door body control modules wouldn't work (VW changed the pins somewhere between MK7 and MK7.5 I guess), so I just ended up installing some sequential mirror turn signals and aspherical mirrors.

I had a T25 bit connected to a 3" extension, connected to a 5/16 socket (or whatever the smallest socket I had) connected to my 3/8 rachet.
But if you can make it work then make it work ?

Now that sounds like a contraption :) Thankfully my hex bit was short enough to fit between the bolt and the turbo. For once I manage to find an easy way of doing something without having to buy additional tools!

This doesn’t apply to ST40 since they’re solid mounted.

The OEM calipers are mounted on sliding pins which can allow clearances to vary

Test fit some new calipers on my non gti. These are calipers off of a b9 a4. 4 piston. I will need wheel spacers to clear stock wheels and new brake lines. This is the 312mm(?) Non pp rotors and the sweep area is perfect with the stock a4 pads.

I realize it’s just a test fit, but you’ll want the bleeders up on the actual installation
