Not sure what maps it's actually required for, but it takes 30 seconds to connect to the afr wire with the provided posi-tap. At the very least, it allows you to see the afr readings on the display screen. Do like the instructions suggest and pull the sleeve back on the wires at the plug, so if you ever remove the jb4/afr tap, it will cover it up.
Ok thanks will do it tomorrow , posi tap is at work cos it takes no time , basically from my reading on it is that with out it its like running jb1

Not today, but a few days ago, I put clear Lamin-X on my headlights. It actually came out pretty well.

But, today, thanks to this post and some others, I think I’m going to remove it.

It’s bad enough that it messes up the lighting pattern - I can see the waviness in the light output in the side wall of the garage. But if the stuff is going to cause my lights to overheat and get damaged, it’s coming off today.

From what I have seen, the reason why most people get tint on headlights is because they are too cheap to buy the higher trim cars with the proper HID/LED painted headlights on the inside and want to tone down the old flash light reflectors for their halogens.

If protection is what you want, I too would just get a roll of quality clearbra and wrap it.
Laminex does cause cracking and burning of the lens. I’ve seen it in person.

Yep Lamin-x definitely causes cracks. I have it on my car and have tons of little cracks

I took it to a car wash to get the love bugs off (fuck those things). I was out of town after driving 3 hours across the state and my car was absolutely covered, no way was I going to let them sit on there for 3 days in the sun and heat. So I gave in and took it to a car wash, first I’ve been to in years, I always wash and detail my own vehicles with great care. It said this place was a HAND WASH and I knew I didn’t want automated machines adding new scratches all over my car.

These fucking idiots used a high psi pressure washer at what I can only assume is extremely close range because it peeled off large chunks of clear coat. Now I get to wrestle with the owner to make him pay for repairs.

I use a pressure washer on mine every time I wash it and this has never happened...

Industrial pressure washers are a different breed. They can definitely remove paint/clearcoat if used at too close proximity.

I'm not sure what I'm more shocked about. The clearcoat removal, or the ount of fucking bug guts on that car. Holy shit.

Florida love bug season man. It was activating the rain sensing wipers. It sounded like rain. I could not see through the front windshield without spraying it for 30 seconds every 10 mins. Ran out of washer fluid quickly.

Also my intercooler/radiator is a bit fucked.

I literally just flew back from a week-long trip in Orlando and could not believe the amount of those bugs. Everyone's front grill and Hood look like they had hit a black wall.
