Replaced my APR rear wiper delete with the billet piece from ECS. Much higher quality and seals correctly.

You are a second SoCal GTIer in the last several weeks that i know of that has suffered a cracked oil pan. Plans to upgrade to a metal one?FML. Went over a curb I didn't see and cracked my oil pan...
Waiting for the tow truck to VW and decided to take out the jb4 just in case... Broke a tab on the charge pipe cable connector. What a start to the day.

Cracking the oil pan does suck and kinda unlucky. A mate did a similar thing while reversing and put a large dent in his petrol tank, didn't hole it but never knew exactly how much fuel he had on board therafter. Nor did he bother getting it repaired even when selling the car, he's that kind of guy. Hope bigdave79 gets is sorted with minimum of hassle....
Got it from USP Motorsport. Good choice on the ECS wiper delete. I’ve had mine for awhile it’s very well made.

For a split second I thought your wheel was spaced out like that. Figured it must be an Orlando guy. So many cambered Honda civics on foot wide spacers out here. Saw a guy with “Deathwish” on his Honda back window breaking down from what looked like a snapped axle the other day. [emoji1751]*[emoji3603]

VW roadside assistance kindly towed it for me. Stealership said $1000 to replace the oil pan. So instead I dropped it off at metric autosport which is only 2 miles from me. They hooked me up with an aluminium pan (or aluminum for you heathens [emoji38]) for a touch over $300 installed. Big shout out to them. If you are lowered please please please do it... It pays off.
My wife is sick of my tinkering... Ordered me to get rid of the car because it's impractical with 4 kids....

I'm glad it worked out. And $300 for an Al pan AND installation sounds like a bargain. I'm going to get my carbon cleaning done at Metric. They do it for less than other places and people I've asked.
Keep the car, man. Kids are great, and a happy wife is a happy life, yatta-yatta-yatta, but with so much responsibility on your shoulders that car might as well be your thing when you just feel like relaxing. Not meaning to poke my nose where it doesn't belong by any means. I hope everything works out for you and you have many more happy miles with the mk7.
Are you sure it's aluminum? Aluminum is usually not recommended for the oil pan because, similar to the stock oil pan, it tends to crack instead of bend when impacted. So, if you hit something like you did with the stock pan, you may end up with the same results again. It's why most pans (before they all became the plastic composite) were steel. It's cheap and steel will bend more before it breaks.
