got 41 k miles

engine mounts ?? tranny mounts??

How to fix please. what to get? where to get ?

i have most tools, (no engine lift) and intermediate skills. Can someone like me "do it" ??

Try a dogbone insert like powerflex (not the hybrid puck) or BFI. Cheap and easy to reverse. If that doesn’t fix it then your mounts are probably toast. All easily DIY.

Definitely the mounts. I had the shop doing my clutch replace my engine mount and trans insert and that "thud" you're describing is what I had before, but thankfully no longer have present.

The BFI really is terrible. Tons of people have broken them and had to remove them down the road. I highly recommend the Powerflex hybrid insert. It is definitely superior.

Not only does it replace the lower puck entirely but it also reinforces the upper puck as well without having to remove it.

Thanx powerdemon - I read ALL 26 pages of the thread and almost made a big mistake w the 034 insert thought!!

so, I looks like the PF HYBRID IS THE WAY TO.

it may stress the tranny mount tho. Should I get
a TRANNY INSERT to keep all parts happy?
Am on a retired budget, so want to keep Mods budget under control

I would recommend the Powerflex dogbone insert first before you try the PF hybrid. The PF insert is easily uninstalled if you don't like it.

Need someone to help. Press on the brake pedal hard in gear and rev the engine to check for excessive movement of the engine. Or check them physically. Don't really know what's considered excessive movement but the video shows one with excessive movement.
