What a MIB I have?

Hello everyone
I have golf mk7 GTI 2015.
And I want to open the CarPlay and Sport mode.
I already know that in order to use CarPlay I need to replace the USB cable.
And I also know I don't have the GPS option.
My problem:
1. I'm not sure which MIB I have.
2. Why can't I see the FEC / SWaP line or switch to the green screen?
3. And do I need to update my system and where do I get a suitable update if so?

In the USA 2015 had the smaller screen, 2016+ had the big screen like you have. You also don’t have heated seats?!?

yes but the MIB1 came with a 5.8" screen. it is easy to identify due to the large glossy black border around the screen.

Good start that you have MIB2 vs MIB1. Much higher resolution screen, even if not much bigger. Also the hardware is much faster and the system is much more responsive than MIB1. And CarPlay and Android Auto should be supported, whereas they wouldn't be on MIB1.

As for enabling CarPlay and the FEC situation, someone in Europe or the middle east is probably best to answer those questions since what we got and what was enabled differs greatly over here in the states and Canada.

There are multiple shops that can enable mib2 carplay in Europe, including most dealers since it was a factory option there. Typically this means you'll by one of the activation keys and they'll install for you. Much easier than we have it stateside.

lol dealers are the worst.

I'd recommend contacting this guy and having it done remotely. You will need to buy a VAS5054a but the rest is easy.
